Coloured exclamation marks on bases

Post by Woollybear »

Quick question after starting D+2 [:D] I notice some bases have red or yellow exclamation marks (!) but I can find nothing in the manual to suggest the meaning, what are they?
Thanks.

They are supply shortage indicators. YELLOW is bad, RED is critical. You need to get supplies to those bases (or, move bombers out, bombers will increase the requested supply and therefore create a shortage vs. requested).

As an example drop tanks won't be available on bases with those warnings.

You can get a yellow marker even when you have more than required supply - the exe wants to draw 3 x required to the base. Operations are still possible, but see what Fred said - austerity measures are imposed that impair activities at the base. Pages 251-252 of the manual outline some of the effects on, particularly, air operations if the base does not have at least 2x the required level - which the exe recalculates daily. If it is not important, you can live with it.

Red is bad though, you are under the required level and need to remedy the situation ASAP.

Also can indicate being below required garrison, which can lose VPs per turn.

I made that remark once and Alfred promptly corrected that the ! exclamation mark only appears if there has been a partisan attack and point lost the turn before.

It was not my intention to impersonate Alfred (who actually never gave a complete answer in that thread) [8D]

Another red exclamation mark is when the base has a minimum garrison AV and your troops are below it.
The garrison one only appears for the turn when you have a -1VP event, partisans and stuff, and is absent otherwise

I stand corrected! - because I get spanked so many times for my poor recall! [:D]

In any case, red exclamation mark is *bad*, yellow is *caution* [8D]

Unfortunately, he doesn't seem to post on the forum anymore. I can only infer that posters such as evoken insulting him was off-putting.

I get tired of people insulting him when he tries to help. Disagreeing with him is fine, don't be insulting about it.
