Where are they going? Colombo, Triv or north, or Male...didn't spot the IJN Carriers this turn.

Eastern Australia...
Feel pretty strong here, although Allied forces are weak in experience and devices, we should be able to move up the coast pretty strongly.

I wonder if there is an opportunity to trap and destroy those IJ units in Maryborough? They have no tanks and no RF guns. IME, their FA units can be suppressed by the 25 pounders of Aussie units. If you have enough Matilda, Stuart and Grant/Lee type tanks you might be able to negate his infantry advantage. Probably, they have not had enough time to build high level field forts yet?

I will be using every Aus Armored unit and the 193rd Tank, and the Marine Tanks if they make it in time...armored spearhead with the infantry following, so there will be a chance for a surprise encirclement, especially given weak recon, perhaps?
I will be happy just forcing him back and perhaps causing him more grief.
RE: Spanking Lowpe (NJP72 vs Lowpe (A))
Your armoured units should be able to move faster than his units so you might be able to beat him to Rockhampton or even the hex before the base by moving cross country. You could even try to move around Rockhampton and block that road up the coast. Medium and heavy bombers should help slow down his movement.
Any problems with invading with at Bundaberg or invading with a unit to block the coastal road above Bundaberg once you secure the inland road?

The Ceylon invasion continues, there is only two Indian brigades defending all of Ceylon, plus the static forces. A scant 11K supplies all told across the island and 0 fuel.
Japanese invaded Tricomalee with the 38th Division only and they got bombed from a size 4 air force with HQa, and the weak, poorly led 99th Brigade stopped the shock attack. Forts are 1 here...and 3 at Colombo.

Allies really are hamstrung with a lack of recon early on, should have assigned more Blenheim squadrons to the role...but we are in footrace to escape.
17 days into March, we received only 4 replacement B26s, so their use has been really restricted.

Relocating troops to stop Japan's new direction...meanwhile lots of troops digging in in off base festungs and still a fair number of guerillas.

Will be a few days off here, heading out for more graduations: daughter getting MD, she starts surgery in June for a year or two then specializing in Heart Surgery after that and an MBA for son and like a 1,000 other MBA grads across the country he will be working for Amazon. He knows what he is getting into since he interned with them over the summer....
Bought a Grand Cru champagne to celebrate!
Will be back next week, if fuel is available. [;)] No time for vists, although we could be close to another Patton Museum @ Fort Knox. Son #2 was stationed there for a bit...

Congrats on the impending graduations! I always feel that young people making those milestones is a sign that their parents brought them up well - kudos to your efforts!

While at Fort Knox, why not take a pleasant walk and meet the hills called Agony and Misery? [:D] Not to mention Heartbreak? [X(]

Ok, I am back...did one turn.
March 17, 1942
I have decided to reinforce slightly Ceylon, and fight for south eastern India as Japan is trying to take this stuff on the cheap I think.
Lots of Hurricanes sweeping inflicting 2-1 losses. Lost 8 Hurricanes for 10 Zeroes, 6 Oscar Ic, and 3 Tojo...a squadron of B26 hit the Japanese leading tanks, destroying 1 and knocking out 15.
Japan is accelerating their operations in the SRA capturing bases by amphibious invasion left and right.
A good convoy with a dozen Matildas and more arrived. Once these guys get to Australia, our offensive up the eastern Australia coast will begin. Australian forces routed the 6th IJA Tank Regiment south of Cloncurry. A handful of Stauarts in a a cavalry unit did good work...plus a motorized brigade.
Our American AA, prioritized first from America is doing great work at stopping the harvest of victory points by Japan in Australia (plus Japan is flying from smaller runways, or extended range or low supply):
Afternoon Air attack on Brisbane , at 96,160
Weather in hex: Thunderstorms
Raid detected at 111 NM, estimated altitude 23,000 feet.
Estimated time to target is 32 minutes
Japanese aircraft
Ki-21-IIa Sally x 22
Japanese aircraft losses
Ki-21-IIa Sally: 5 damaged
Aircraft Attacking:
6 x Ki-21-IIa Sally bombing from 18000 feet *
City Attack: 2 x 250 kg GP Bomb
8 x Ki-21-IIa Sally bombing from 18000 feet *
Port Attack: 2 x 250 kg GP Bomb
8 x Ki-21-IIa Sally bombing from 18000 feet *
Port Attack: 2 x 250 kg GP Bomb
Afternoon Air attack on Brisbane , at 96,160
Weather in hex: Thunderstorms
Raid detected at 80 NM, estimated altitude 21,000 feet.
Estimated time to target is 28 minutes
Japanese aircraft
G4M1 Betty x 17
Japanese aircraft losses
G4M1 Betty: 1 damaged
Aircraft Attacking:
13 x G4M1 Betty bombing from 18000 feet
Port Attack: 2 x 250 kg SAP Bomb, 4 x 60 kg GP Bomb
4 x G4M1 Betty bombing from 18000 feet
City Attack: 2 x 250 kg SAP Bomb, 4 x 60 kg GP Bomb
A damaged heavy cruiser is pierside at Brisbane, and acting like a magnet drawing in the air attacks.[;)] Once every three days she takes a bomb hit that bounces off the armor.

I didn't think he would try this...I had been debating sending a Marine tank unit here, they are cooling their heals in NZ.
