Why can't I attack Riga on Turn 1

18th Army clears a path for my panzers to surround Riga, yet, even with more than enough MPs the game does nothing when I try to attack. The hex pop-up tells me my odds for hasty or deliberate attacks. When I make my selection, nothing happens. My MPs are not adjusted, as expected, since nothing happened. This happens to me over and over, so it is repeatable, but only at Riga. These same panzers can run roughshod over other units. What am I over looking?

Where is the unit that is attacking? It is possible that you are trying to attack across the river in which case the amount of MPs required to make the attack are very high. If you cross the river and approach from the east then you should be able to easily attack and take Riga.

If you could post a couple screenshots it may help us better understand exactly what you’re seeing.

I usually approach Riga with 36th ID, 6th, and 1st Panzer.
You should be able to get 1 or 2 of those units across the river.
Riga only has only the 22nd NKVD Motorized Rifle Division in it and should fall easily.
The other 2 counters are a HQ and something else.

Also what difficulty are you playing on?

I'm at fault here. I redid the move and saved every MP that I could and I was able to get in with a Hasty attack. The Daugova was a bigger obstacle than I thought. #stilllearning

Glad you figured it out! It’s a big game but the more experiences like that you have the more you build up your own bank of expertise!
