Just kidding of course. It is being actively developed.

We put quite a bit of development into Steel Tigers, but had to pause it to complete War in the East 2. As mentioned earlier, it's planned to be 2by3's next project once WITE2 post-release support starts consuming less of their time, which may take a while.

So my understanding is that Steel Tigers development will be on hold for a while.

No, no, no. You'll upset the wargamers. It's actively being developed. [;)]

Ha ha, good one there! We don't want to have even MORE upset people than what we already have
You know what they say, don't you? About how us MechWarriors are the modern knights, how warfare has become civilized now that we have to abide by conventions and rules of war. Don't believe it.

I hope the coders will include multi story buildings in the game. With the right impact on LOS depending on the floor where the unit is.
I also hope to see the new engine used for modern warfare, perhaps in a DLC or in another game.

Now that WitE2 is out will the focus be on Steel Tigers? Is there ANY timetable for this game? 2022? 2023?

Even if the game is full-3D implementing different floors in buildings and having infantry fight floor-by-floor seems like too much micro. Agree that it would be cool to have buildings with different heights though.

Yeah, seems unlikely this will be out this year but can only hope. Steel Panthers is still there whenever I need a blast of tank-on-tank action even if it is showing its age somewhat.

Any news from the Matrix folks here?

I'd like to know that I have enough time to sink my teeth into WitW before Steel Tigers comes out :)

That's my guess as well. But to me the real question is the scope of the initial release--ie, how much content will be included? I have no problem with the DLC concept in theory--no problem paying a few bucks for more content for a game that I like--but in practice I've found that DLCs are released a glacial pace, and even then rarely approach the level of content that I'd prefer to see. FOG2 is one of the few exceptions I can think of.

If my memory serves me right it will only be early war Eastern Front 1939-1941 with between 5 to 10 nations to start with? Yes 24/25 seems probably about right as something seems to pop up while working on this title hopefully we are all incorrect, but only time will tell.[>:]

Maybe they do but not one individual has stated that they do care.[8|]
