Problem with starting a pbem game

I created a head to head pbem game. Chose axis, made the simplest of all passwords 1234.

When I try to join and enter the password I get "Connection error (34) Wrong challenge password", which it definitely is not.

Some sort of error, how do I fix it?

Your opponent needs to put that password in and then the game starts. Neither of you will be asked for it once the game is running.

I'm the opponent, and I have been able to join the game with the password provided. Most strange that you can't.

Ah, I see. Well, it's just how it functions then. Didnt realize you had to join first, thought I would take the first turn and then send the game on.

The challenger cannot play their first turn until someone else has accepted the challenge.
