Sweden 1-0 Slovakia

Interesting result. Sweden pretty much home and hosed. Slovakia with some work to do. Makes the Poland - Spain game well worth watching.

Alexander Isak is a good prospect.

in the meantime this gets embarrassing ... how long before Levy is scouring Hackney Marshes for up and coming managerial talent?

Croatia vs Czech Rep next.... and then the big one.

England vs Scotland. How much history do you want? The oldest international fixture.

Sadly the 'neanderthal's are us' section of the crowd will boo the anthems and the taking of the knee but all we can do is hope such morons get theirs in the next life and we can enjoy the occasion.

I really want Scotland to progress from the group but don't trust England not to muck up against the Czechs so have to hope for an England win tonight.

'gets embarrassing'? Sadly I think that ship sailed some weeks ago.

We had the chance of Conte. He walked away because he didn't believe in the project. Regardless of what you think of Conte, here is a man who knows what is needed to win.

So if that is not within Spurs capability then fine. Accept it and go for Parker, Howe or Potter and accept that its a long term project.

I think the Spurs board are in total denial about how rubbish and/or old the bulk of the squad is. I mean truly rubbish. They have two choices but they can't adequately decide on their route until they understand that. Levy seems to think someone is going to get this squad into the CL next season with minimal investment and a dedication to bringing through the kids..... Delusional.

the taking of the knee
Who is taking a knee? And why? I feel like I have missed something. [:(]

Which of the teams has the best looking kit? Do not forget that sometimes the away kit is better looking than the home kit.

Sadly we rarely see teams in their proper kits nowadays. Bloody ridiculous.

But Hungary is a great kit, France and Scotland (assuming blue, white and red) are great kits, Holland - I don't even know if they have black shorts [:@] but if they do then that is quality. I've only seen Croatia in black and Czech in white. Boring, boring boring. Do England wear blue shorts anymore? Do the Germans wear black shorts? At least Sweden wore blue shorts today.

SORT. IT. OUT. UEFA. [:@]

The Magyars as they should be

Right. So why could Germany not wear black and France wear white shorts?

And England couldn't wear blue shorts because?

Half-time England 0-0 Scotland

Well how entirely predictable was that shower of ......?

Sideways, backwards, sideways.... slow, laboured, predictable.

So dull, so pathetic, so lacking in invention, so devoid of skill, so.... England. Every tournament, the same load of toss.

Everytime an England defender gets the ball you can visibly see the Scottish defenders panic. "Where is this next pass going?" "Who do I mark now?" "Where do I position myself for the best?"..... Er sorry, did I say panic? No the Scottish defenders take a well earned breather knowing full well England will pass it backwards or sideways or backwards and sideways for a change......

If Scotland win this, then they will deserve it because at least they could be arsed to turn up and give the game the passion and commitment it deserves. What was my scenario 2?

Scenario 2

We beat Croatia, fall over ourselves with ridiculously mis-placed optimism and draw or lose with Scotland. We manage to do enough against Czech to qualify. Result: we make it to last 16 but fail to top the group and so lose home advantage and tamely lose to Spain, Poland or Sweden in the round of the last 16.

The big issue is our manager hasn't a clue. Been obvious since the last world cup. He is totally clueless.

Performance is so bad it HAS top be because no one wants to finish top.

Eng - Sco 0-0
Fair result, both teams had some chances, but I am guessing Scotland will be the happiest with this result.

Have to say, I feel England needs to step up their game if it is to "come home". Too slow paced, too many passes, too many thouches.
Kane...Not sure what to say, he gets too passive for most of the game.
Sterling. When he is good, he makes things happen, but when he is not at his best, he wastes alot of chances. He holds onto the ball for too long, tries one too many dribblings.

So what was the reason for the hideous performance against Croatia 2018? Or Iceland 2016? Or failing to get out of the group in 2014 etc etc etc etc

I think the consensus where I am is that Scotland should have won and have some reasons to be a bit peeved at just a draw. In many ways that was too easy to bring to a 0-0 draw which is frustrating (and makes Monday's 0-2 all the more frustrating).

Except we then finish second and don’t play at Wembley. Unless we start playing football, I wouldn’t back this shower to even get a draw against the Czechs.

Why does England refuse to put the ball into the penalty box? Are the English players forbidden to do anything that reminds anyone of classic English football? [&:]

Instead they passed back in order to make sure they kept the ball. I am wondering if the teams score points by boring the opposition? Spain were even worse in their first game.
