CW spend 8 surprise points to increase the damage done to the Italian ships. The remaining two points reduce the D suffered to an A.

Since putting both X on the Italian CA sinks all the Italians automatically I put the first X on the Italian CP, and thus give the CA a chance of surviving the combat. Therefore I will continue with damage allocation to the Italians (even though it is the Axis side that decides). If my thinking was in error I will go back and change it.
