Intel Report

As the Armee's prepare for the next phase of 1942 offensive, Intelligence Reports come in that The Russian High Command has released more troops from its Reserve Army.

No specific details yet where these new troops are to be sent but its believed to number around 150,000 men in all.

Vice-Admiral Wilhelm Canaris head of the Abwehr is endeavouring to find out more details of where these troops will be sent as this is critical for the ostheer to know.

AGC Turn 46

The Battle for Moscow begins in earnest, 3rd Pz begins its envelopment movement on the enemy Capital, encircles both Kaluga and Tula as 9th Armee covers its Northern Flank and attacks directly East.

2nd Pz after destroying the pocket swings South and encircles Kursk with the help of 4th and 2nd Armee's.

Voronezh and Belgorod are now in a position to be taken once the pockets are cleared.

AGN Turn 46

1st Pz smashes through the Russian line and encircles Stalino , Taganrog is also captured and we are only 40 miles from Rostov.

Right across the entire front the Red Army is pushed back with many enemy units trapped.

The Soviets fall back in disarray.

No attack will be mounted in the Crimea until the 2nd Hungarian Army is fully assembled.

Losses Turn 46

With the General offensive now in full swing the Soviets take huge losses with over 40 Red Army units cut off.

With the destruction of these units it could produce another half million enemy casualties.

Supply Turn 47

Still really good but it may drop away as the front moves forward and my rails lines are further back.

Hoping the rains stops soon, the main bonus is my Pz Armme's are way in the green.

I have finally got the supply depots right.

OKW Reports 47

With going well on the Eastern front, more good news is announced by Berlin.

In North Africa General Rommel begins his own 1942 counteroffensive as he pushes into Egypt.

AGN Turn 47

The pressure continues on the Volkhov River line as Red Army units continue to give up ground.

16th Armee objectives now include the capture of Vyshny Volochek as well as Okulovka and the important rail line to Kalinin.

AGC Turn 47

AGC destroys both pockets at Tula and Kursk, 3rd Pz's Southern pincer swings back towards Moscow as 2 Pz begins heading East and South.

Two Pz regiments drive towards Voronezh and find it completely undefended.

Meanwhile the Northern pincer moves closer to the objective.

AGS Turn 47

The Trapped forces at Stalino are destroyed and our Pz spearheads encircle more Red Army units defending Rostov, some units push through and are now at the city.

Further North 6th Armee advances and encircles Kharkov creating a salient at Belogrod.

The Russians either have to pull there troops back or face being trapped.

On the Black Sea 11th Armee begins its own attack driving back the defenders, there objective Krasnodor.

Losses Turn 47

The Red Army again suffers huge losses, nearly a third of Million casualties.

However there is bad news General Von Thoma newly appointed 2nd Korps commander is heroically killed leading his men in battle.

Erich Brandenberger replaces him.

More news that actually displeases me even further General Fedor Von Bock is dismissed from Army Group Centre and Ferdinand Schoerner takes over.

Incredible Von Bock is at the gates of Moscow and could well capture the city in a matter of weeks and Berlin steps in with this ridiculous decision, do they want to lose the war.

Supply Turn 48

Still looking good even with more troops arriving at the front.

Rail repair is falling behind but a new FPB has arrived in the South to help with the advance of Army Group South.

Some concern in the centre as even with two units there they can not kept pace with the rapid advance.

More Interference from Berlin despite the big success in The Ukraine Gerd Von Rundstedt is dismissed and Walter Model takes command.

This meddling by has got to stop it will begin to undermine all the good work and dampen morale here on the Eastern front.

AGN Turn 48

Many successes across the front including the capture of Osinovets, Leningrad's last land / water supply corridor is lost.

This should be the end for the city, I'm now moving part of 4th Pz Armee down to Kalinin for the drive on Moscow, the rest will follow in good order.

Further south 16th Armee continues to take ground, there is still much to do as i want to clear the Leningrad / Moscow rail line completely.

AGC Turn 48

There has been some stunning turn of events at the battle for Moscow, Elements of Schmidt's 49th Pz Korps have punched through the Russian rear and formed a narrow corridor to the city itself.

With the gap open a Pz regt from the Korps pushed through and captured the undefended city Ryazan, its expected the unit will be cut off but a relief force is hoping to get there soon to relieve it.

In the North Kunszen 57th Pz Korps attacks in strength with support of 9th Armee and three Red Army units are trapped, other Russian units are pushed back.

Further South 2nd Pz and 4th Armee consolidate there hold on Voronezh, also parts 2nd Pz and 2nd Armee together with 6th cut off the Belgorod salient.

The Soviets seem shattered and in disarray, is this the end will The Russians collapse.

AGS Turn 48

As mentioned earlier 6th Armee has helped with encirclement of Belgorod as well as assisting 17th Armee's drive on Voroshilovgrad.

1st Pz Armee destroys the pocket in the Don basin and reposition for the attack on Rostov.

Im holding both Romanian Armies back for the time being, further South the 11th and 2nd Hungarian drive on down The Black Sea coast.

OB Turn 48

My continued success and the amount of casualties the Russians are taking they can barely maintain there Army above 4 Million,

On the Eastern Front, there is just a chance the war could be over by July but it will depend on 3rd Pz can hold the corridor to Moscow long enough for more troops to arrive and relieve them.

Supply Turn 49

Despite great advances by the Ostheer in all sectors and rails being further back supply continues to be good.
With Pz Armee's being over supplied even better.
