The 'Folder' button will take you to the other directories. Once you open a game from a directory that directory will become the default.

If duct tape doesn't fix it then you are not using enough duct tape.

The folder button is the problem - when I check it get: "The system cannot find the path Specified".

Forgotten how to upload an image on here... :/

If I recall correctly, this problem relates to the install creating two different directories, and the executable in the "wrong" directory points to the "wrong" path for scenario stuff. I think I am saying that right.

It will take me a bit to construct an easy to follow "modification" to the game (involving target path to executable) that *should* fix this for you. I think.

I will try to find real quick .... I think it is on ... hmmm gimme a sec I find it (I hope)

Crustacieons, unfortunately, don't seem to recall this trick. It has nothing to do with upgrades etc.

Ah, here it is I believe. try this: link will open pdf file one page in new window:

After you get the latest patch installed see what happens.

There is a work around for this. You can go to Documents/My Games/The Operational Art of War IV

Once there delete the Scenarios directory (always make a copy of any directory you are deleting before you delete it). Then copy the Scenario dircectory for the C:/Matrix/The Operational Art of War and paste it into Documents/My Games/The Operational Art of War IV.

Did you install your game into the default location or did you put it on a drive other than C drive?

Thanks - I'll check those - I put all games into c:/games....

Oh and it won't check for updates/patches either! :/

OK thanks, but neither of those can be done -

@Hellen_slith - there is no matrix subfolder in program_files(x86)
@Lobster - there is no scenario directory in documents - the only scenario folder is wher I installed it under c:/games/matrix games/The Operational Art of War IV/scenarios. Documents/myga,es/TOAWIV has Graphics override, my fonts, saves and sound directories

But acting on a hunch I copied all the game direecxtories into the documents TOAW IV folder and lo and behold it works to select scenarious aty least.

Stil won't check for updates tho - apparently I'm on 4.1.0.2

Really bloody amateurish snafu in this day and age!! :(

Oh yeah. That update function has never worked as far as I know. I've tried using once too and immediately regreted it. It needs to be removed but it seems to be on all the launch screens of all the Matrix games. Crazy stuff.

On my old computer. The mouse pointer of TOAW IV didn't line up with the screen picture. So it sometimes seemed as if buttons didn't work. But if I clicked the mouse pointer under it or above it, would work.
With my new laptop it all lines up naturally.
So try clicking around the folder button. See what happens.
