Here's what Leningrad looks like now. I expect to have the area cleared of Soviet troops shortly.

This is what Sevastopol looks like now and we're already past mid-Sept. and I haven't made the required progress to stay on schedule. My
losses are heavy and my troops are being supported by ample arty but still
progress is too slow. I may have to replace all these troops with fresh
ones. Although I have no idea where they will come from.

I'm using the Romanian bombers for close support and more often than not
they are too tired to join the party. And their losses are mounting as
well. At least the rail is repaired all the way to the front lines in this
area and the supply levels are generally excellent.

This is the T28 face of war near Moscow. I'm slowly pushing the Soviet lines backward
and that allows the opening of gaps in their lines that I might be able to take advantage
of. I'm still concentrating on killing Soviet troops rather than trying to gain terrain.
About half of my planes are resting. I've been using them rather heavily lately. The
supply levels are still more than adequate.

I've pushed a little closer to Stalingrad. I should be there shortly.
About 2/3 of my planes are resting. This is the sixth combat round
and everybody has moved as much as they can and everybody is dug in
and I'm about to end the turn.

It's T29, early in the turn, I haven't moved anything yet. I've managed to
push in the east side a little bit but there's still quite a way to go before
I can own the city. I think Sevastopol is a supply source for the Soviets
because the Soviet troops don't seem to be getting any smaller as they have
losses. I know MY units are getting smaller with each attack.

I think Sevastopol is a supply source for the Soviets

There's a supply point icon showing on your map to the southwest of the city- it's possible there are others covered by the Soviet units, but if not you could in theory drop a Romanian naval unit onto the hex and it would put the whole garrison out of supply. Of course the Soviets might respond by killing your unit but it's worth a try.

It looks like there's a supply point just offshore as well as one inland. I'm guessing I'd have to occupy both of them to cut off the supply to the enemy units. I don't have any boats that can get that far south and occupying just one of them won't help anything. So I'm back to the brute force method of cutting through the Soviet units to get to the city proper. That's going to take quite a few more turns I'm afraid. I may need a fresh infusion of troops to get the job done. The ones I have there now are getting worn down a bit. Maybe if I bring in more bombers to CS the attacks.

I finally captured Odessa. That will free some of the Romanian troops for
Sevastopol. So far so good.

Here's the face of war near Stalingrad in T33. The supply is in the low 20's which is just fine for low
intensity operations. Which is just fine....I'm in no hurry to get here now.

It's already 12Oct41 and this is the state of affairs at Sevastopol so far. I'm not so sure I'm going to be able
to make the 04Dec41 deadline to capture the city in order to release the Bulgarians for use.

It's now T34 and the weather is getting worse and the Axis supply net is collapsing out from under the units. I'm in
the process of repairing the rails into this AO but it's going to be a while before they get here so I have to decide whether
or not to withdraw my units from the non-supplied areas to avoid the pestilance penalty that will ensue from occupying such
hexes. My overextended supply threshold is 5 so I need to find some hexes that have at least that much supply in them and occupy
those instead.

I have a couple of aircraft resting but 98% of them are online and ready. I have 21.2K HRS's assigned but only 200 on-hand so I'm deploying them almost as fast as I'm building them.

This is what it looks like around Moscow right now.
I gave priority to the Moscow route for the RR engineers
and they were successful in repairing the rails all the
way to the front lines in this AO so the supply levels
are more than adequate. I'm trying to form a circle of
Axis units all the way around Moscow to prevent any more
units from entering this battlefield. I gave some thought
to maybe dropping some bridges to the east of Moscow by air
strikes but it appears that Elmo has broken a lot of
those bridges on his own. I'm not complaining.

The mud season has started so the movement range of my
units has been cut in half and operations have slowed
down to a crawl. I'm giving thought to maybe putting a
moratorium on attacks for several turns to allow the
individual units time to fatten up on equipment to make
them more resilient.

I've lost 474 Me-109's but there are still 1K
assigned and 149 on hand and I'm making 18 per turn.

I'm not making any Ju-87 Stuka's any longer and I've lost
188 of them and there's still 249 assigned but there's
only a single Stuka left on hand. I won't start building the late
model of Stuka until T75 when I'll begin building 12
of them per turn.

I've lost 250 He-111's but there's still 678
assigned and 15 on hand. I'm making 7 of them per turn.

I've lost 317 Ju-88's but there's still 738 assigned and
136 of them on hand.

Here's what's going on to the SE of Moscow. As you can
see there's not enough supply reaching the front lines
yet in this AO so I'm going to have to give my units a
break and let the supply level climb high enough to give
my operations a fighting chance to succeed.

I saw my chance at Moscow to do something risky but if
it works it will shorten the war. I've driven some units
into the enemy rear areas capturing an airfield and have
started a movement to cut off the Moscow defenders from
the rest of Russia. I recognize the need to push some
more forces into the thrust to follow through on the push
to get into Moscow's rear.

I managed to gain one more hex at Sevastopol and
that gain puts me adjacent to the city proper so I think
for now I'll park all the arty in the inventory and push
for the city itself and see what happens.

I'm still pushing south from Rostov trying to get into the
Soviet oil fields. I don't remember ever getting this
far in the game in prior games. I'm learning the names of
new cities. I've got to get some supply to these folks
so they can continue pushing. More and more Soviet units
are starting to show up at the front lines down here.

You are quite welcome. This AAR is going to slow down a bit now since
I've started a FITE2 game with Ken Fortune. But I'll keep going
because I want to know how it's going to go from here on.

EDIT: I've abandoned this game to concentrate on Ken's game.
