Game Stops Loading after Graphics Change

Hello, fellow gamers!

I'm certain this is an easy fix, but I cannot for the life of me remember how to correct it.

I was in the midst of a turn in the Solomons scenario (in windows mode). I changed the graphics settings during the turn, and probably selected one too low. It immediately shrank the window down to small and would not allow me to scroll up and down in the graphics setting window (with all the buttons representing the different graphics settings), so I could not correct the problem.

I figured I'd just close out the game and reload it.

But now, when I attempt to load the game, a small window pops up for literally less than 0.5 seconds that shows the WarPlan Pacific graphic (with Nimitz and Yamamoto) with a red box containing a white exclamation point in it (see image below). That disappears and nothing further happens.



I've uninstalled and reinstalled the program without luck.

I'm sure it's an easy fix, but I'm at a loss! How can I get back to war?

<EDIT> I've discovered that it only occurs AFTER I install the v1.00.02 patch. It runs fine at v1.00.00. [&:] And to clarify, I've had the game for almost two weeks and it worked fantastic with the patch. It was only after I tried changing graphic options during a turn did the program go bezerko and not reload any more. Something outside the game is corrupted, as I've redownloaded the base game and the patch from the Matrix site to reload it, and STILL have the problem.

Well, I've done everything within my knowledge and capabilities to try and fix it without success.

I'll check back here periodically to see if anyone has any ideas or suggestions. It's possible maybe a future patch will repair whatever was corrupted.

I made some changes to how it handles graphics. It saves it in the registry now.

in the search (lower left) type "regedit" and when it finds it hit enter.

navigate to the... Computer\HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Kraken Studios\WarPlan

highlight the same keys highlighted in the picture below and hit delete. You will NOT see most, if not all, of the other keys. These are added in the upcoming patch.

Although it didn't work the first time (I was missing one of the files you had listed on your post; I deleted what I did have and it didn't work), I finally just deleted both WarPlan and WarPlan Pacific and deleted the Kraken folder from the regedit. I reloaded Pacific and patched it and it worked.
