Out of supply hexes staying with original owner

Post by stjeand »

I remember reading somewhere that when a hex is out of supply it will sooner or later revert to whoever controls supply hexes adjacent.

I don't see this occurring at all and it causes an issue with recon for the other side as they get some.

BUT if this is the way it should work just say...I spend tons of time taking all the hexes so that the recon is prevented.

For example...the Japanese take Rabual. But they don't walk near every hex on the island and hexes there stay UK controlled and inturn they can see naval units in the port.
I have seen these hexes never change for 6+ months.

Is there something that can be done to address this?

It is a lot of micro to move units to ever hex to get control everywhere and stop the recon.

Post a screen shot. But if the hexes that force the change are not in supply then it won't change.

The hex is on the island of New Guinea...and the Japanese have owned it for at least 6 months.

You can see the hex two hexes southwest of the HQ.

Papua is expected. China one is unusual. But you should walk into there.

Well I understand I should walk into there...but it take a lot of micro to move through every island and take them all.

The one if Papau is in Japanese supply but not UK supply so why does is stay UK?
And that hex gives the Allies decent recon on Rubaul...the can see ships there or not.

I guess not a huge deal but a major pain as it give the allies good recon even though it is not in supply.

And the China one is the norm. I have not seen a hex "change" I have to walk over all the hexes to convert them.

I see a UK hex next to a Japanese port that has been out of supply since turn 2. But it stays.
I always take the hexes myself but it is easy to miss a half sized hex thinking it is a beach and/or close to the same color as the Japanese so missed.

It's based on your supply reach. So imagine your trucks reach X range. But the people that live in that jungle you never been too are still there living off the land. Unless you go in there and burn out their villages they are pissed off you took their island and become coast watchers.
