The Bushmasters

Post by Wild Bill »

Well, all this talk about the Pacific got me in the mood :D

So I've been playing my own Bushmasters scenario. I've revised it using the new tools in SPWAW and it was a LOT of fun.

Playing it with 6.0 was even more fun. It is a real blood bath.

If you want casualties, you'll get 'em a plenty with this one.

I got a decisive (what else? - I designed it! ;) )

But it was a hard fought battle, challenging and with a few surprises still.

I'll send out this revision along with the other revised scenarios in the new upcoming version 6.0 patch.

Anyone want it in the meantime, give me a holler. Just drop me an e-mail.

The Busmasters is a great PBEM battle. With the Jap MG's now a lot more efficient, it should be a lot harder for the Marines. I'm looking forward to trying it again. Just in case I don't have it, send it along. Thanks, Wild Bill, for this one and all the other great scenarios. :)
Retreat is NOT an option.

Warrior, one of the reasons they came out well is due to your work and those of your testing comrades. Well done yourself!

Files going out now. Against the AI it is much better. I fixed the waypoints and the objectives. Some real nasty firefights along the way.

Hey WB I'll accept your offer as well, anything that you have taken the time to rework is worth an extra look. Learning from the past experiences of your work, even though I lose more hair and have to rehire my shrink it always an enjoyable experience. Is it here yet?

@WB
I played it thru but only achieved a draw, well at the end I got a bit to self-confidence and lost all my tanks.
It's a really good Scenario, but I have one Question about the Tanks they are called "M4a2" but the look like Pershings and the also have the Values of Pershings can you explain that?

Well speak of the Devil! I just played Bushmasters yesterday to get a fell for 6.0. I was my first time playing this senerio. I took all the victory locations but only scored a marginal victory. I smoked up and by-passed the caves when I located them for the most part. The machine gun fire on the approch was hell though. Lost some guys and a Sherman on the mines also

Had a great big point blank rumble in the jungle to the south. After I cleared the town I sent all my armor down there to put an end to all that sillyness. The Japanese still put up a frocious fight and managed to immobalize one of the tanks and damaged another. What a nasty fight.

Then a billion Japs charged across the shallow river and I finlly got to see what a few properly placed 30 cal MGs can do to troops moving in the open. Lets just say the Crocs ate real good for a week or two after that battle.

A great senerio Bill. I'd like the modified one also. I'll ring ya for it later.........
