Thanks for all the well wishes guys. I got cut free last night, body still hurts in places but good to sleep in my own bed. Wife thinks the fall was due to excessive drinking and has gone from being supportive to not speaking to me, sigh. The EEG was clear, so no neurological problems (she claims I had a seizure, thus the neurological tests - I think I was just grabbing for a railing and missed). EEG tests are a little freaky towards the end, lots of strobe lights that you see even though your eyes are closed - they are literally manipulating the wires in your brain. But can now go outside and take a walk, look at nature, go pick up high blood pressure meds and generally be better behaved. But I was thrilled this am when I was able to have an egg, cured ham, an english muffin and tea. Going to just take it easy the next few days. Thanks again for the concern.

Glad to hear you're on the mend, Frank!

Thanks - still cannot lift my left arm over shoulder level - I think that will take a while since there is a huge bruise back there. I think that will hopefully just take time.

Yesterday we took our first trip over to the house in 4 weeks. Almost everything is stalled with the construction right now due to a worldwide shortage of insulation materials. Fingers crossed that some comes available soon and we can get things rolling again.

Meanwhile, we were pleased to see that a little bit has been done since mid June. This first shot shows the front porch with the brick columns completed and the brick steps in place. The columns will have white wooden supports from the bricks to the roof of the porch. We were happy to note that it looks like the front entrance will only have 3 steps up from the walkway once the ground around it is filled in and leveled off.

The other notable progress is that the concrete garage floor has been poured and finished. Again, we're happy to see that it looks like only one step up from the garage floor to the entrance to the house. Right now we're ready to celebrate any progress at all! [:D]

We're still hoping the house will be finished in October at this point, but the estimate from the builder is 12 weeks after the insulation is done to complete the interior. Another couple of weeks of delay and we will be looking at November. [8|]

The siding will be after the insulation is done, while they work on the drywall and interior finishing. The builder's agent said they don't foresee any significant delays for materials or labor at this time, once we get past the insulation. Of course, that's no guarantee that things won't change next week. [:D]

Years ago when I worked in the industry, we always enclosed the exterior before the insulation was installed. Of course I was in Massachusetts. The rules might be different depending on the location....GP

Fiberglass insulation batts go on the inside between the studs, but the non-porous foam boards they use now need to have a wall to adhere to so they put it on after the chipboard or plywood cladding is on.
