rule book hard copy?

Post by bstarr »

Any way to get a hard copy of the rule book? I didn't think to order a hard copy of the game (I'm not even sure if it would have come with a rule book anyway) but now that I've seen the rules I really wish I had a hard copy I could sit down and read cover to cover without murdering my eyes on my computer screen. Does such an animal exist? Where might I find the beast?

So far I'm blown away by this game. The detail is amazing. I just want to make sure I'm doing everything right.

The rulebook will become out-dated as a certainty. In point of fact, when WITE (1) shipped, the printed manual was already incorrect in significant ways. It took a long time for the community to come up with an updated manual, and even then (a) it was the community that did it (which leads to); (b) it being only available in pdf.

It is a useful rulebook/manual to be sure, and worthy of printing and cheap binding in some fashion for quick reading. Or, if you're like any first worlder, load the pdf on one of your other internet-connected devices and pop the manual up there for quick reference without involving dead trees.
Fall 2021-Playing: Stalingrad'42 (GMT); Advanced Squad Leader,
Reading: Masters of the Air (GREAT BOOK!)
Rulebooks: ASL (always ASL), Middle-Earth Strategy Battle Game
Painting: WHFB Lizardmen leaders

I'm not so sure about this. WiTE1 was pretty much redesigned across the post-release cycle. WiTW was much more stable, the changes being mostly balancing off the VP system etc.

I'd say the WiTE2 manual will remain mostly correct in the same way. The associated Living Manual contains the changes and so far they are important to have recorded but amending game play fundamentals
