Of course. There's no restriction to the mounting of weapons except for the 15 limit. And the requirements of each weapon, but that's not the point.

Common sense still applies though. Avoid mounting ammo-dependent weapons in the head and engine location. If it's a support titan, try to install your main weapons to the upper section of the titan (you'll probably want to be crouched for long periods of time). Having weapons installed to the arms and head is usually best, especially if you're planning on going CC/charge/DfA. Excessive amounts of ammo (especially in a single location) is asking for trouble.

Savannah Campaign Map 1 strategies.

Using the built in team 'Vicious Raiders'. Choose your locations wisely. Send your Dragonfly and Stinger to hex 10/06. If some of the enemy is heading north and another is heading south across the river then stay at hex 10/05. It will block the southern Titans LOS at least for a while.

Send the Dart to hex 09/01. That will let it have a good range with its LRM 6 for longer. I'd choose 09/01 because it has cover. Once the enemy has crossed the river you can move up a little to keep your LRM and SRM at Range. '/' will make the ranges come up on the tactical display.

Make sure all titans target the same enemy. Focus your firepower.

When Gersen's student try to cross the river to get to you they usually fall. This gives you a bonus chance to hit%. Use it to your advantage. These hexes also provide you with cover. The enemy can still gain your hex but they have to climb a slope and it takes them longer.

Crouch once there if you like. It gives you +5% to hit and makes you harder to detect or to be hit.

*The ambush hex is at 14/06.

Amiga Battle Mech

Post by Sintaks »

This game looks so much like the Amiga Battle Mech
Sharware Game.

I was so addicted to that game.

In this game can you use your lasers to ignight brush before a enemy mech get to it?

And if you go into water will it cool your mech Off?

And is there Super Deep Water where you will loose your mech if you go into it?

and one last question after you kill a enemy/complete a mission. can you salvage the enemies weapons, armour etc...??

Yes, you can ignite forests and brush before, during or after an enemy has been in it, and if they do go into the burning hex, it will raise their heat.

Water will cool you off, but there isn't any water deep enough to loose the titan. There are, however, different maps where water is replaced by acid, which will melt your titan, or lava, which will melt your titan and heat it up.

When you finish a mission, you can get a monetary salvage award, or you have a chance of getting an enemy's titan entirely. There aren't any partial salvages.

A glimpse of what's beyond
Was it just imagination
Stringing us along?
More things than are dreamed about
Unseen and unexplained
We suspend our disbelief
And we are entertained

This game is driven by Heat. Disbelieve this at your Peril!

If you alpha strike your later firing weapons will be firing at a heat penalty giving you less and less chance to hit. Fire on Heat Green and you'll never pay those penalties. This rule should only be broken if you're pounding on a downed enemy and you're trying to make him fall again, or in desperation when nothing but a lucky shot will save you. If you don't maintain fire discipline the veterans are going to feast upon you. Also a shield overload with heat in the green range isn't fun but it is survivable. If your shield overloads when you're allready in the red your ammo is gonna go BANG!

When designing titans remember that this applies here as well. If you're firing on heat green your weapons wind up recycling in an even, balanced and staggered manner. A Kraken (11 ac4s) really only needs 10 because it can't fire more than 7 without a heat penalty and it's heat dissapation only allows 10 of them to fire before the 1st weapon recycles again.

Crouching Circumstances

Post by KiloOhm »

I'm by no means an expert, BUT I usually take my 1 long range Titan with his plasma gun and crouch him on top of a hill to shoot at the enemies my other titans are cutting up with their chainsaws. Usually the penalties for skill checks do not matter much because since he's not getting shot at as much as the CC titans so he doesn't make many skill checks and the +5% bonus is very nice to have with a slow reloading Plasma gun (gotta make every shot count).

Sure. Just keep an eye out for airdrops. And if you're in woods, the opponent may ignite them to flush you out. Related to this, heavy woods/cover have a 5% offensive penalty - which cancels out the crouch mod.
