thanks for answering so quick. I mean the old version of Intelmonkey, that was in use about 6 years ago. I removed it and installed the IM of this thread.

OK. Let's make sure I understand: the new version from this thread is picking up an old game?

correct: if I look into the "archive" folder I see files dating back to 2015. should I delete all files not generated by the current pbem?

Some separate ideas...

Use the configuration menu to tell IM where to find the files for your game.

Many players run multiple games at one time, and do so by having WITP-AE installed in different folders (just for example "PBM1", "PBM2", etc.).

If you are in a sense re-using an installation of AE then yes, you should clean out files from the old game. IM will just pick up whatever files are there, without knowing some of them are from an old game.

Hope this answers your question.

- I cancelled all files in archive prior to feb 14th 2021 (when I picked up the pbem left 6 years ago)
- in configuration I pressed "create/replace all"
- I pressed get scenario data
- I pressed load info
- all buttons except aircraft/bases/groups/lcus/ships info was greyed out
- I pressed "process new files"
- I now have my pbem on intelmonkey. I have to go and study the use of the different screens and options because I cant extract the information I want. But it's there.

Thank you, I hope I dont have to come back to you and bother you.

Sorry, the file you have requested does not exist.

Make sure that you have the correct URL and that the file exists.

Go here:

And click the small arrow at bottom right (circled in red on the attachment)

Note: You might have to disable your antivirus in order to complete the download or even install it.

See if this helps:

Automated virus-checking software gives false positives about the .exe version. Even after you get it downloaded and installed you might need to add it to the virus checker white list (aka exception list) so it doesn't delete it out from under you.

Read a page or two before the first post on this page for some background:
https://www.matrixgames.com/forums/tm.a ... ile

Use this link: https://www.mediafire.com/file/5jr7vzrd ... -I.7z/file
Password to decrypt file: intel_monkey (all lower case)

What I really need to do is get the project moved over to Github or something like that, then get set up to digitally sign the executable.

I was surprised that Malwarebytes did not detect this as malware this time around. Of course Microsoft Defender did flag it, but a manual override worked fine.
I find your utility most useful in the later stages of the game, when it is time to start the Allied advance Japan.

Thanks - I already had it, but covid seems to have generated a group of new players.

Many thanks to all for your help and observations. Going to the page mentioned by Kull has worked [:)] though I did have to disable anti-virus as suggested to download it. Normally I would be wary of this but have put my trust in the WITPAE veterans!

So just to recap, DL possible (for me at least) from page address ending in .../intel-monkey (given by Kull)

But could not do this via page ending .../home

And then after some time, probably after a Windows update, Defender deleted it again. I am through fighting. I like your utility but it is too much trouble to use.

..snip:

Can perhaps a mod/admin look into this issue? I am interested in the program too as it was recommended...but not if there are d/l/possible virus problems just like the forum seems to have issues...thanks.
