Cross national bomber ASW coverage

Will bombers assigned to this duty provide a benefit for other nations? Or just their own. Because I really don't want to put all of this on the poor UK's stretched economy. I'm frankly even considering using Soviet bombers to help cover the Lend Lease route which, in any case, the UK cannot really cover anyways.

Also, what is the relevant tech here? Detection?

The ASW attacks are fixed. So Detection actually is effective vs subs as an ATTACK.

if I remember planes with detection automatically add +2% within their range.

I meant to say their damage when they find. But the +1 finding chances have been almost doubled.

How could you confirm this is working? You must see a 2% increase in sub hunter bonus on ALL convoy lanes in range?

It would be too easy just to be able to reach a route to get the bonus.
The enemy subs on a convoy route have to be in range of the Detection Bomber for their convoy attack to have the +2% escort value.

Thanks, so I need to place them correctly. Does it work only versus subs? Or versus surface raiders too?

I didn't test it against surface raiders. However I think it would only be against subs as per the normal escort rules.

Escorts don't impact raiders. Ships and air units specifically designed for sub hunting were ineffective vs ships.
