18 units close to Warsaw

Post by thomashawk »

Does this limitation include the naval units in ports or at sea?

Don't know, good question.

But I do know this. Just saw the worst movie at the theater, "The Green Knight". Had to walk out, wait for my friends in the lobby, ate popcorn & soda, horsed around on my phone. If I would have stayed and watched the last hour, was seriously considering ripping the big screen off the wall.

I've been wondering the same for the "keep 1 unit with X hexes of this city" requirement as well and whether it includes naval units and if the distance is by land or just the number of hexes.

Great to know! Also, is the 18 empty hexes between, or does it include either/both Warsaw and the unit in question?

Another related question: Does the rule apply for non-German troops too? Hungarians specifically?

Starting from Warsaw counting out 18 hexes in any direction and yes it would include Hungarian, Italian etc, essentially any Axis units.

And air units too (which are considered "land" units).

Maybe I´m slow, but so Warsaw is included in the 10 hex distance?

Meaning for a unit not to be included in the count, it needs to be on the 11th hex from there?

Like this to avoid the penalty:

Warsaw = 1
Empty hexes = 2-10
Occupied hex with land/air unit = 11th

Or?

Also, is there any cumulative punishment for amount of "trespassers", or does just one or 10 above the 18 units have the same penalty and effect on the Soviet union?

Hi Thomashawk,

Including Warsaw it would be 11 hexes, if you start at Warsaw and count out then 10 hexes. Elessar is correct as well, land or air units, e.g. anything on land will count.

Hope this helps [:)],

Someone should do a map of this, similar to the one for preventing Italian war entry.

I agree with PJL1973.

I have been playing the game since the beginning and still fall foul of it at times, as it stretches back to Berlin, Prague and even Vienna I think. Well inside land controlled and classed as part of Greater Germany.

May be hexes like the "Pan American Zone" could appear when the activation date is close to coming into effect (maybe 2 turns prior).

That would help players like me with failing eyesight (and minds [:)] and new/ inexperienced players falling into the trap.
I am noticing a lot of new players starting PBEM games at the moment, so that's good for the game and hopefully the community if they stay playing, this could remove one annoying thing by not having to count hexes god knows how many times before moving troops East or even just redeploying them into Germany.

I know someone has done 1 for the Allies in the med so they don't trigger the Italians, it would be great if both could be included in on official patch.

*** SOLUTION ***

There should be a 'Pop-Up' when you have violated the conditions.

"Stalin's unpurged Generals have intelligence reports of massive Axis build-up. Total of <#units> have violated the good faith border procedure"

@Taffy --- One of our games, I believe you violated this condition, but we didn't know hy. Reds activated those frontal units, I evacuated them on my turn. It was basically, "game over". So we invested decent number of turns, and weren't aware.

I agree. BUT be warned - the Italian trigger map in the strategy guide is WRONG. It is out by one hex on the Eastern border. Ouch, Hoping that will be fixed in a future update.
