We make some minor attacks in the east but I think we have to realize that we've reached our zenith.
Except for in the north the entire Soviet line consists of strong units.

The Allies invade and try to capture Brest but fail.

A counter-attack shatters a British corps and recaptures St Malo. Again and again air superiority really helps,
although at this point we are feeling the lack of mobile units.

We are still pushing north towards Archangelsk but attacking any strong Soviet units is very costly.

I have no idea what Soviet manpower reserves are, but I've started a minor offensive to capture Sevastopol.

The Allies take Brest, and the Italians in St Malo surrender.

Our counter-offensive shatters two corps.

Sevastopol falls. In the west we take St Nazaire but the loss ratios are not greatly in our favor.

In the east we overrun a mech corps (I think it's a first in 1942, we don't often fight strong Russian units).
We can almost see the rail line to Arkhangelsk on the horizon.

Italy evacuates Tripoli.

In a pyrrhic attack we shatter a UK armour. Time to be more defensive.

Not much happening over the winter. We've bought 2 fighters, 2 bombers, lots of supply trucks.
Manpower is at 59% so we are sending some aid to the minors, allowing them to use their manpower.

For the past few months we've been building a large corps every turn, along with supply trucks.
Manpower sits at 67%.

Our first business is to seize Rostov. I'm glad we used our paratrooper as the defenders only retreat on the last attack.
As usual I forget to use supply trucks.

In the west I restrict myself to an air offensive. The Allies have almost achieved air parity but I still seem to shoot down slightly more planes than I lose.
I didn't mentin it earlier but over the winter we've landed a few hits on British carriers. Air superiority is nice!

Forces. By this point German production has basically outpaced manpower so I think I will permit myself to build a few mechanized units. They won't arrive until late summer anyway.

We have some fun overrunning a Soviet army but I'm not sure how much further we'll go. If we can get some high odds attacks we'll take them.

In the west the Allies push back a corps at high cost, but the real battles are in the air. I think we are still winning, although we for sure will need more fighters for 1944.
We bring in a fighter from the east: Finland and Crimea no longer has fighter cover.

For some inexplicable reason the Soviets withdraw from their solid river positions.
This may mean we can roll up this entire front until Stalingrad.

In the west the Allies are still strategic bombing. I let my planes rest a turn as it's raining.

The UK invades Sicily. It's a bit of an odd invasion as their HQ is stuck on a beach and surrenders to a counter-attack.
I think Nirosi must have goofed here. I know I do sometimes with invasions.

I'm not going to bother to send German units to Italy (yet).

In the east we are carefully advancing on Stalingrad. I'm watching my flanks against the mobile Soviet units.

In the west it's another air offensive, a clear victory for us this time, Allied fighters seem tired/reduced.

Italy suffers a mountain corps overrun, which is worse than I thought we'd do.

In the east we continue our march towards Stalingrad. I'm starting to wonder if we can actually take it.

In the west Allied air resistance is so light that we transfer two bombers to the east.
