Question to payment of customs duty

Question to payment of customs duty

Hello,

i ordered WITE2 HB Edition with the Upgrade to Physical + digital edition

WITE2: $79,99
Upgrade to Physical + digital edition: $20,00
DPD Shipment: $11,04

total: $ 111,03

The game ships to germany, now i have to pay customs duty
on this website:

dpd.easy-import

My question:

Did i have to enter the full prices?

Because $79,99 are for the download...or i'am wrong (which already includes tax)?

I entered now the full prices that i have $111,03 in total.

This will cost €23,75+ (=$28,20) extra.

Thanks for helping!

It's Brexit. Items sent from the UK to the EU are now taxed.

Interesting, I did not pay any custom taxes. Maybe you can buy just download version, that will be without taxes(?) and then upgrade to physical version, the package will be only 20euro so it may be excluded from taxation.

I bought the digital edition and later the upgrade. I paid import tax for the manual coming into Sweden. From memory, it was about 10 euros.

I was surprised at first, and then remembered that ridiculous secession that the UK barely managed to carry out. ;)

Thank you all,

i paid now for the full price because i want to get the game delivered.
(and for avoiding any problems).

That costs:

$ 111,03 for game HB Edition incl. DPD for shipment
+ €23,75 Taxes
+ € 6,25 for services (tax handling)

Round about € 130,- hope there will be no addition costs too.

Maybe Slitherine should sending from the NL (Nederlands) for EU customers?

Next time i will check to buy later the upgrade option..

Maybe shipment via Royal Mail is without taxes does anyone knows?

I export to Europe from UK, and from July 1st everything has turned into an indescribable mess for small business, particularly if you send low value packets. I stopped exports for the moment, and may have to close down until the UK facilitates domestic registration for IOSS (Import One Stop Shop) to manage EU taxes. If this is implemented- no date has been set- at least delivery delays, handling and "accounting" charges can be avoided, as well as the corporate scams below.

VAT is chargeable on everything, physical and digital. You can't charge VAT at point of sale unless you have a means to pay it to the EU. Currently, this has to be done either through tax "representatives" in the EU who charge £thousands£ a year to register, various website integrations that cost loads to implement, or other "services" which are basically skimming small business profits for doing nothing. One of the cheaper options is Crossborderit. All these options add per transaction costs as well as set up or standing charge costs. A £17 product, non-VAT liable for domestic delivery, can cost £30 on delivery to EU, including handling and VAT.
If Slitherine produced in the UK, it would still have to export to Netherlands and pay VAT on physical product. Not sure how digital would work, but if they're not already legally registered in the EU, it would add costs.

I also export a lot to the EU, mostly pallets and containers ( we struggle but we get there) - its a mess (buyers pay the VAT but they can claim it back as mostly big companies). For most small businesses ( and individuals ) however selling smaller items they will stop exporting as its changed in the last few weeks to include pretty much everything regardless of value. So the losers in the end will be the tax collectors - instead of being reasonable and get a fair amount they go for the throat and miss. Then they get nothing - good.

If you want some serious fun try exporting organic food - you would resign within a week or two :)
