triggering Bulgaria

Post by Bavre »

In a recent match I had a rather unusual and funny situation. Did my usual Russia first while bulldozing the Balkans and had captured all of Serbia except Nish. I had at that time also conquered Poland, so Nish was the last remaining trigger for Bulgaria aside from the 3-5% from the surrenders of Albania and Serbia itself. When I looked at the Bulgarian mobilization, I realized that it may not be enough [X(]. Probably got exceptionally bad rolls on all the previous triggers.
So I had the choice to either let Serbia live a few more rounds, so that Belgrade could tick some more (it stops when Serbia dies, right?) or go the diplo route.

While Bulgaria not joining CP because they are too successful on the Balkans and crushing their mortal enemies too fast is a rather hilarious concept, I think this should be kind of rectified. To that end I'd propose to make Serbias end in itself a (big) trigger for Bulgaria. I think this would imho make perfect sense in a RP way while not unbalancing the game. I just prevents the neccessity to metagame your way out of this (admittedly exotic) situation.

Hmmm...I think you like these 'exotic' situations. [:D]

That's actually interesting.

Does the continous trigger from belgrade stop if serbia surrenders?

It doesn't, so keeping a unit in Belgrade should eventually see Bulgaria joining the Central Powers.
