T117 11/22/41 This view shows the German units wanting to move into Tunisia instead of moving against the British. These units were replaced and they have had enough of the British Army. Once the Allies move close enough to Tripoli, Vichy will open its border and allow the Axis troops to temporarily escape, This was supposed to happen in November of 42 so this is early.

T117 November 22, 1945 To save Leningrad I had to move several artillery units from Moscow to shore up the defense. Artillery is still the Queen of Battle. The Axis Bot was blasting the Russian line with very few losses. With new artillery support the Russians may hold in front of Leningrad at the last minute.

T117 11/22/41 The Moscow pocket is getting smaller. These Axis troops are doomed. The weather is changing to snow with no relief troops in sight.

T117 11/22/41 In the south the Axis Bot is still advancing and is nearly at Stalingrad. The weather is changing and their supply will be impaired for a while. That will result in the Axis Bot inability to advance again until better weather in 42.

Pictured is Axis Track 5 (all tracks selected) from the scenario attached to post #12. Probably the wrong formation, but it does show the direct path to Leningrad. Oddly, I don’t see the retreat path shown in your post.
Maybe it’s time to get out the “sal” files and follow the path the units took as opposed to their programed track.
Regards

Here is the same 1 Fin Korps in your view that does not go to Leningrad. No Finish unit has a track that takes them into Leningrad. Your view does not take that Finish unit to Leningrad. It takes it to the city of Viipuril which is the Finish surrender point and all Finish units will try to defend that point at the end.
The German units go to Leningrad but not directly there.
I think the answer will be in the German units that went the long way and the ones that did not. I think the Russian resistance made some bypass and go directly to Leningrad. The answer to that would be to make Leningrad an objective in a later track like track 3 or 4 instead of all in track 2.

T119 12/6/41 Here is the news for the last two turns. Note the track changes, ships sunk at Pearl Harbor, trouble with bad weather reducing Axis shock to a normal 100 from a previous 110, and the Vichy opening their borders to the Axis and accepting the Panzer Army Afrika in Tunisia to defend Bizerte. The Axis will also fight for Tripoli. The Axis air shock remains at 110 until 1943 when it is reduced to 100.

T120 12/13/41 Kido Butai left the area around Pearl Harbor to protect the carriers. They are located just off Samar. Where they go next is up to the Bot. I have made so many changes that I do not know what or where they go now. They will be defensive but where?

T121 12/20/41 When the excluded zones of Vichy were removed the excluded zones covering Crete and the Channel Islands were removing making them Axis controlled. It was too difficult to have the Axis Bot take them given all the other objectives in the same area. If desired the Allied player can retake them.

T122 12/27/41 Here is a view of the 5th Panzer Army Afrika defending the Bizerte area. When they arrived they are empty of equipment which is now filling up to the extent possible. The two Tiger battalions have 1 Tiger each. They will have to wait a while before replacements are started in 42.
