In a horror movie from the '30s an old woman reveals her evil true self via... CG morphing?? Of course this was impossible in 1937, so, what trick did they use? See if you can catch it before reading the solution (it is in the comments). I didn't.

I guess that for 1937's audiences this scene was as scary as f*ck: a transformation happening "live", without cutting away. I wasn't able to catch the trick. For sure it is a great display of ingenuity.

That was very interesting, I wonder how that would work on a stage.
