Dismounts

The new Cold War turned hot wargame from On Target Simulations, now expanded with the Player's Edition! Choose the NATO or Soviet forces in one of many scenarios or two linked campaigns. No effort was spared to model modern warfare realistically, including armor, infantry, helicopters, air support, artillery, electronic warfare, chemical and nuclear weapons. An innovative new asynchronous turn order means that OODA loops and various effects on C3 are accurately modeled as never before.

Dismounts

Post by Deathtreader »

Hi,

Is there (or will there be) a way to keep a units transport completely out of an infantry assault? I find that even when I dismount 2 or 3 hexes from my intended assault hex the APCs get involved in the battle for the hex anyway and usually get clobbered in the process. My assaulting infantry then become foot powered win or lose. Maybe a manual grey out of the transport until the player brings them back from the twilight zone? That way you wouldn't have to code a second counter to represent just the held back transports.

Its not a game breaker by any means, just a constant irritant if you get my drift. Maybe a pearl will come of this...[:D]

I can neither confirm (wink, wink) or deny that we have a way to deal with this in the new game engine. [8D]
OTS is looking forward to Southern Storm getting released!
