Turn 4

Ground Losses

Was able to get 219,239 but that will probably be the highest I get for the rest of the game. I hope not but we will see.

Turn 4 Beginning of Turn

My Rumanian Armor was Molested, rode hard, and put away dry, without even a, "Thank you very much"! But as a consolation prize circled in orange looks like the perpetrators did not get far ;-)

Yes, I'd have to think long and hard about an attack like this. With admitted 20-20 hindsight, doing a hasty attack even with the risk of a hold would be the better choice. The attackers could at least have the option to scoot back a wee bit more. Risking three divisions to inconvenience a Rumanian one really isn't a good bargain, especially if you know who's lurking in the background.

Yes, this was a mistake. I just posted an update with the explanation for why it happened in my AAR.

Turn 5 Beginning of Turn

Soviets bombing away. Embolden by the lack of German supplied Airbases the Soviets step up their bombing campaign.

I bid my time. Not much more time to wait.

Turn 5 Beginning of Turn

17th Panzer gets B*tch'd Slapped, hard. But held. I think I would rather have less casualties and a retreat but it is what it is.

The Soviet attacks have Pro's and Con's. The Con's are starting to out weigh the Pro's now. But I don't mind if you continue. 17th PZ looks like it will be resting for a turn or two ;-)

I flew AS mission in this area and you can see I lost 3 fighters from the AS mission. Only thing I can think of at the moment why the -3. Unless someone smarter than me can tell me.

Turn 5 Beginning of Turn

Soviet Air Losses

Changed my settings on my Air Doctrines this turn to what I normally run. So hope to nip the extra losses in the butt. The prior test setting just suxs I was trying out. Coupled with the fact that Supply now to the Air bases is a huge plus.

South Pockets hold. The Soviet player is "very" aggressive. Almost to a fault.

Turn 5

Recon

I found this recon interesting. Got level 5 depot circled in orange? I am sure that is just misinformation... I hope.

Notice that recon did not show anyone in Zhitomor. The program will retreat retreating units that way marked in blue if not taken by German units. I will prob the hex to the west of Zhitomor for a ZOC and if that hex converts I will try to snag some Soviet units retreated that way by attacking down the dual track marked in red. Hey, soviets love to retreat retreat retreat. I love to peel off Soviet units. Only fair, right ;-P

Looks like the attack last turn wrecked that Soviet Moto Divisions MP's that is next to Berdichev, lol.

I like herding units, but the problem I run into is that they just rout instead....defeats the purpose. As you say, you really need good strong units that won't run, only fall back

Jubjub is helping the process. Those units experience are in orange level, and they are well supplied & rested on CCP. Makes my job even easier.

You can see in post 172 a "yellow" experienced Soviet unit. You won't see many of those again for awhile.

Just another note but kind of trivial nonesense but usefull on weighing an opponent. Pay attention to the Soft factor displayed when the turn comes back to you. The Program normally keeps the settings of the last opponent and every turn has come back with the CCP with Jubjub. Trivial information but useful. Also some other settings change too. Just trivial BS that has minor meaning. I know you think I am crazy but every little bit helps.

Turn 5

South

3 attacks and I bag 2 Soviet Divisions. Please note, that I had strategically placed German units marked in light blue to help re-enforce a retreat to the SW with no German units in that area of the retreat.

It is all a dance.

Turn 5

South

I herd the 232 Rifle Division to the NW. Good experience unit and should be able to sustain at a minimum 2 hits. Successfully moved and complete the Surround with Moto units.

Turn 5

Rhzev

I get 4 Heavy woods but not enough MP's to get bottom hex one from units in back :( I did have enough MP's to get all the way to Rhzev from the two front PZ Regiments but made a decision to stay put for the time being. I should have converted the hexes was my thought after I sent the turn on the woods in front. Oh well...

But I am happy with the Heavy woods taken.
