Missing escorts.

Axis T1 in the campaign.
This doesn't look right to me, here are examples of two bombing runs. They are shown bombing the target, with escorts. However on the way home (it is the next combat in sequence on the battle log) they are intercepted by Soviet fighters and the 109s have disappeared.
Any thoughts, have not seen this before ?

Had your Bf109s the extra range due to the Fuel Drop Tanks?

It happened to me in the past with that specific circumstance, but I assumed it was some coordination issue of my forces.

Albert may be in the ballpark. I'm wondering if the bombers approached the target from a significantly different vector than the fighter escorts. If the intercept in example 1 at 212,208 would have taken those escorts outside their effective range than they would not have been there. Check the range circle from where that 109 unit is based and see if 212,208 was within that circle. I'm not entirely certain if the 109s would have dropped their tanks at the first intercept point over Odessa (assume so in order to engage the enemy fighters) in which case that range circle in theory would now possibly be smaller with the dropped tanks.

Both examples did have drop tanks.
So possibly they are escorting to the target. The bombers do their bombing and in the process the fighters drop their tanks (they are fighters, not bombers) and then on the way home the fighters are no longer there.
However I have done these same air directives many times and not seen this happen before.

So I ran an old game with the same AD.
In this case there were similar intercepts on GAs escorted by fighters with drop tanks and the fighters continued to escort after the bombing mission.
It looks like a new bug that is only effecting ADs set up under a recent patch. Or possibly I set up the AD with a different sequence of clicks but that seems less likely.
