Defending the Reich HPS - W10

Post by Techfixer »

Hello. I tried to install DTR in W10 and I kept receiving error messages about incorrect registration of OCX files. I found in HPS website a zip file that was for a different game (Decisive Action) but had all the Active X files ( I'm not allowed to post the link) for OCX registration issues. I was able to register some of them but I stuck in COMDLG32.OCX. No matter how many times I register this OCX successfully I keep receiving the message "Component xxx.ocx or one of its dependencies not correctly registered: a file is missing or invalid". I tried to install the game in a W7 VM but it failed to start due to Direct sound init error (Virtualbox). Shall I try with a Vista VM? Has anyone managed to successfully run this game in W10?

P.S. No change after applying the 1.01a patch.

Have you tried installing it in safe mode?
