Warsim...

Post by wodin »

Been playing a game called Warsim a mainly text based fantasy kingdom sim which is currently only around £5.00. Loads of gameplay, well worth the money. Been in early access awhile now really hope it continues to expand.

Check it out.

I have played a number of those (in the '80's even). Some arcade ports aside, I don't miss them.
You know what they say, don't you? About how us MechWarriors are the modern knights, how warfare has become civilized now that we have to abide by conventions and rules of war. Don't believe it.

Fair enough..I just found imagination, naivety and wonder all added to those early game experiences. Plus due to thye visuals gameplay was the most important feature.

SO much can still be done with this style of game. Reading a book is a deeply immersive experience so well written text heavy, indepth, detailed, but visually light games can still be extremely immersive if you have a good imagination.

Disco Elysium game was all about of rich text of an alcoholic police, which was better than any written drama I've seen in a game about dialogue choices in whole gaming history in the past. but still those games need good narrative group much more numbers than Game of Thrones scenarists. It is much harder then designing any AAA game. Which is not realistic.
