Newbie question about air ops

I'm fairly new to the game. I've read large chunks of the manual and I think I have an ok grasp of general gameplay.

However, I have a problem with air to ground missions. Often, when I try and assign aircraft to attack a hex (with AI assistance on), it assigns an AOG without any aircraft to the mission.

What am I doing wrong here?

Might be better to post this in the quick questions thread. I cant help because I haven't used AI Air assist.

I suggest you start to practice doing things manually.

You can select the hex, and the range from the hex.
You can select the AOG or even a specific air squadron (Need to tick on the option at the bottom of the AOG selections for that).

The AI Assist leaves often sour results.
