Aircraft sent to reserve

Post by tyronec »

Have had this happen on T03 of my Campaign game.
Two AOGs of recon aircraft have had all their planes sent to reserve (not The Reserve) so they have no aircraft available to fly this turn.
They are on an advanced airbase but it is within supply range. I would have expected the airbase to receive some supplies and the air groups to be useable this turn, instead they have no aircraft and that is presumably why the airbase received no supplies.
Not a problem, just takes me extra time setting extra recon ADs.
Anyone seen this before ?

The lark, signing its chirping hymn,
Soars high above the clouds;
Meanwhile, the nightingale intones
With sweet, mellifluous sounds.
Enough of Stalin, Freedom for the Ukraine !

Yes. You do not have sufficient supply available on the air base to operate the air group so all of the aircraft are sent to reserve until the supply situation is better. Sometimes it only sends a portion of the aircraft to Reserve status but the usual thing is all of the aircraft.

I avoid this by flying supplies into the airbase (a single mission) before transferring the air group in. This usually will prevent this from happening. HOWEVER, if the air base is occupied by a combat unit the combat unit will usually 'steal' the supplies from the air base.
