Combat Mission: Cold War - Release postponed

Post by Mantuvec »

Sorry to announce late that we had to move the release date again due to issues that prevent us from properly implementing the PBEM system for multiplayer.
The new release date should be in August / September.

Battlefront is doing a great job trying to implement our PBEM system in the game, but obviously it's not that simple. We were convinced that we would be able to release by the end of July but we noticed that there were some problems in the build. Therefore we preferred to give the developers a few more weeks to provide you with the best experience with Combat Mission Cold War, which is why it was not announced earlier.

We'll keep you updated as soon as we have more detailed information on the new date.

Given Battlefront's history regarding delays don't be surprised if you only see the game on steam towards the end of the year or even next year. IIRC Red Thunder was released about 2 years after their first initial projected release date.

It's been almost 8 months since the last CM game was released on Steam perhaps release one of the older titles in the meantime. At this rate it will be 2025 before the entire series is available on steam....

All of the games can be bought directly from Battlefront any time. As I understand it steam keys will be available for those games when they are released to Steam.

Looking forward to it and to the backporting of the new PBEM system to Combat Mission Shock Force 2. [:)]

I have no idea why the Matrix/Slitherine PBEM system is being included. Exchanging by normal email is quick, simple, and easy.

Well this is at least important to postpone a release. And using Slitherine PBEM for other games, it does the files manipulation for you.

The release is not postponed. You can buy the game right now from Battlefront. When the Slitherine PBEM edition is ready you will be able to patch up to it.
