Should Bombers (and other planes) be allowed full Recon on missions which have combat?

Post by ElvisJJonesRambo »

Sort of a minor detail, but are planes getting too much information when on a Mission? Specifically, Bombers.

1) Allied Bomber leaves England to drop eggs on some deep seeded target.
2) Bomber gets juicy Recon all the way to the target and 1-hex outward.

I mean, I understand there's Recon, but should information be that good if you're dropping eggs or in combat?

My idea. No Recon when eggs are dropped, ONLY the hex dropped on, and the surrounding. If the Plane does not have combat, then and only then are all the hexes revealed between Start & End positions.

Given 15 day (or longer) turns, doesn't it make sense that separate recon missions are assumed to be included? Now if each turn was one day long...

Okay, I'll buy that explanation.
Gotta have Recon at some point.
Turn based game.
