sewatcher - decentralized PBEM kludge

Post by Voker57 »

For games with friends, I have made another PBEM helper, not relying on central server but considering the save folder synced (we use syncthing).

It is less user friendly, configured manually and uses linux-specific notification mechanism. Thought I'd post it here in case somebody else finds it useful.

The tool: https://gitlab.com/Voker57/sewatcher

outdated:
Since this forum forbids me to post links under the most arcane rules, I'll just say it's called sewatcher and is on gitlab.

"No posting for users with less then 10 posts and 1 week of being registered" is not a arcane rule.
It is the single most common and common sense rule to avoid Spambots.

It is the single most common and common sense rule to avoid Spambots.

In fact it is "seven days after tenth post". Hopefully now I'll be able to post links eventually. Also the phone number, email and upload size restrictions ensure there is no way to properly report a bug for a new user at all. Nothing on the internet has this kind of restriction nowadays. Just let me fill 100 captchas.

But this is off topic anyway.

I have used syncthing in the past and it is good software that deserves more common usage than things like dropbox etc.

Anyway, I looked in gitlab for sewatcher and couldn't find anything.

This looks like a great concept.
Any updates?

Thanks - no idea why my search didn't find it.
