China:
Wenchow garrison might not be able to escape, too many enemy units moving to block LOCs and hexsides. Although forts are at 0, another Japanese attack has been bloodily repulsed while moving out of the hex into the woods. Too bad they are doomed, valiant troops which have gained good experience in the fighting.
Betties bomb troops at Paoshan - just harrassing or are the Japanese planning to take China through the back door?

Burma:
Almost empty of Allied troops, two lone rearguard Bns being bombed while withdrawing north near Ramree Island. I hope I can hold Bengal with the forces available.

PI:
Manila and Bataan heavily bombed again. More ground units and 14th Army HQ detected at Bataan. Base and units are out of supplies, it will fall quickly when the Japanese decide to attack.

DEI:
Palembang heavily bombed again. Destruction of Dutch resistance centers continues with the capture of Djokjakarta. Bandoeng and Malang still hold. At Medan, the enemy seems to have been stalled - only temporary for sure.

PNG:
Betties bomb and 4 CAs bombard PM again with little effect. Japanese deliberate attack held with heavy lossses inflicted on Japanese troops.

Australia:
Kure 3rd SNLF at Portland Roads bombed by B-17s, causing some disablements. Not sure if this landing is a diversion or harbinger of bigger things to come.

Homefront:
Convoy system starts to fall in place. In the PO, 1100-tons-AKs and 1800tons-TKs supply Alaska and Aleutians from Seattle. 2100-tons-AKs and 6650tons-TKs go back and forth between SF and PH. 12-knot AKs of the 3200-3500tons types and 9400tons-TKs commute between San Diego and Wellington, with Tahiti as MOFP (mid-ocean fueling point). Slow AOs keep Tahiti fueled from PH. Large TKs and fast AOs keep Wellington fueled from LA - I hope, since the major part of the USN is starting to arrive at New Zealand. Anything faster than 12knots is reserved for moving troops and airgroups.
In the IO, the large AKs of the 3k/4k range are hauling supplies from England to Capetown where the mass of 2800tons / 2600tons AKs take over for distribution to Bombay resp. Perth. Small and medium TKs keep India and Aden supplied with fuel, the big TKs do the long run from Abadan to Perth and Capetown via Diego Garcia. The latter is being garrisoned by two Indian brigades plus CD guns. Assorted base forces evacuated from Malaya and remnants of the Dutch flying boats have started to arrive via Cocos Islands.

With Mini-KB detected south of Cocos Is. sinking the evacuation transports and bombing Cocos Is., I have tried to surprise it with a small CAG build around CV Indomitable. Didn't work, Mini-KB has been reinforced by CV Soryu - scratch one British flattop plus supporting ships. Part of the CAGs screen had been detached to try and catch Mini-KB in a full-speed night dash - didn't work either, but the SAG stumbled across two TBs, sinking them, before retiring south towards Perth.

PNG:
With 44k supplies available at PM I decided to spawn the available PTs at that base to stop the Japanese bombardment runs - two groups of nine and one group of 5 PTs. Didn't work, CL Tama and two DDs sank 16 PTs with no damage in return. The string of subs positioned between PM to Milne Bay scored three hits, not on the enemy SAG but on xAP Shanghai Maru. The Japanese continue to bring-in reinforcements, I'm hesitant to add more ground troops I will have great difficulties to resupply. Most US fleet subs are migrating from the Manila supply runs to help shipping supplies to PM.

Australia:
Enemy subs are active off Perth, ASW assets are in short supply - and a bunch of tanker convoys and two brigades of the Aus 7th Division are inbound. Will try to route them around known sub positions.
Warspite sortied to try another bombardment of Norfolk Is., preceeded by a DMS sweep. The DMS dispatched a lone PB and found no mines at Norfolk - but enemy air-launched torpedoes found Warspite. Looks like at least one enemy CV is operating north of Norfolk Is. just out of Allied air search range. Will try to build a small base at Lord Howe Island to put Norfolk under better observation.

Homefront:
Lots of convoys at sea with troops, supplies and fuel from CONUS bound for Australia with minimum or no warship protection routed via Tahiti - Wellington - fingers crossed enemy subs or raiders won't catch the scent. 4 US CVs are at Wellington, but Lady Lex and Sara are due for upgrades in March, will probably send them to Melbourne, with their air groups put ashore to provide cover. The provisional USA fighter units in Australia must be disbanded on March 15, I am thinning-out the fighter cover on New Zealand to dispatch fighters to Oz. Pilots still pretty raw.

Ominato port can get pretty clogged with all the resource shipping coming from Sakhalin and Hokkaido. Sendai is a little further SW but it has good potential for expansion. It is also a good port to support invasion shipping to the Aleutians.

The only unit in the vicinity that could come to the rescue is a Construction Rgt - but it has to march two hexes through wooded terrain without roads.

India:
TF 475 detected by Japanese Aircraft at 38,5 near Karachi - surely a Glen-equipped sub lurking. I don't have enough escorts so only troopships and tankers have the luxury of some ASW protection.

Burma:
Upper Burma BAF Battalion SURRENDERS near Katha - now only one lone Bn left at Mykyina, fleeing in the direction of Ledo.

CBI:
TF 340 snooped by Japanese Float Plane at 36,5 near Karachi - damned sub is still eluding my air search and ASW patrols. Lots of digging and training going on and although upgraded to 42 infantry, Indian infantry units remain woefully understrength.

Japanese SRA:
Usual bombings and bombardments of the hold-outs.
Pamekasan - the island of Soerabaya - has been invaded with battleship support - slight case of overkill.

Western Ajustralia:
Mini-KB moved south from Exmouth outside air search range as I found out the hard way. Although I have started evacuating shipping from the Perth area and rerouting Oz-bound convoys from Cape Town and Abadan to go to Melbourne instead of Perth as soon as Mini-KB made its presence in the IO felt, some convoys are still within Mini-KBs wide reach. Actually Mini-KB managed to stumble right into the middle of a convoy at night. From four different convoys two out of five TKs and three out of 12 APs have been sunk, plus an escorting "AMC" Q-Ship. Luckily Mini-KB gave Perth itself a wide berth - the precious ARD are slowly being towed away to the East to hide at Esperance.

SWPac:
Lord Howe Island expands airfield to size 1.
PM is being reinforced again by the Japanese, another brigade of the 14th Division arriving. The covering forces sink most of the interferring PTs, but a few PTs manage to reach the convoy to sink an DMS and damage a CM. B-26 with pilots trained in naval bombing (70s-60s) make their combat debut but hit nothing and loose three of their numbers to Zeros and AA.

SoPac:
The usual enemy subs lurking around Tahiti.

CentPac:

SWPac:
PM bombarded by IJN cruisers, more reinforcements landing. Remaining few PTs sunk in the process. Major elements of the USN have been moving up to Townsville for operations against PM but spent too many ops points refueling to be sent out this turn.

SoPac:

The usual bombings and bombardements, plus another BB bombardment of Manila.

Western Australia:

SWPac:
The Allied Navies launch a major effort to support the besieged garrison of PM. Led by a TF made up of British and New Zealand CLs, followed by four USN TFs of CLs, CAs and 2x BBs plus escorting DDs. Nells and Japanese subs try to intervene but manage only one torpedo hit. However, the bombardment results are disappointing despite prior recon flights and night air recon in each TF. For some reason, the CA group never made it to PM. Unimpressed by the bombardments, the Japanese launched two deliberate ground attacks with scary results, reducing forts from 3 to 1. The smaller Aussie units having been in reserve mode, I expected them to switch to combat mode to join the fight - but they did not - normal? Anyway, the issue is now seriously in doubt. The fleet will retire to Oz and now probably face the interesting prospect of encountering KB barrelling up from Raoul Island.
Oh, and Lae expands airfield to size 2.

I think that it is normal for the Reserve mode units not to come out of reserve mode if the attacker can not take the base.

I think KB made a night dash into the waters south of Raoul Island, but did not linger long and was picked up by the Cats on the way back up north, again passing by Raoul ISland. At least that is what I am hoping for, since I still have numerous convoys at sea between Wellington and Tahiti which try to leave the danger zone.
