Scen 6 Dec 8 Start

Post by Andy Mac »

Updated to latest standard AI and all bug fixes processed just in case anyone really really feels the need to play this scenario

Wouldnt recommend it v the AI as its Scen 1 level on both sides

Andy, thanks for doing it. You'd be surprised how many new players choose this for their first campaign, and it's a not uncommon choice for beginner level PBEM.

Alohas and thanks for the updated mod! Kick ass!

Couple of questions:

1) Do I delete the files you mentioned in the Scen 1 update thread - just changed to Scen 6?
An updated AI file please delete all existing aei01-00x.dat and aei01-00x.dat files if you want to keep them copy to a subfiolder - at present the new AI file has NO variants and therefore will not overwrite the existing files so you need to delete them or you wont be using the latest files

Scen 6 = delete files - aei006-01.dat to aei006-16.dat

- Are all files in the zip dumped into the WitP SCEN folder?

2) Do I need to re-start my current game (v AI) - actually still doing Kull's setup (Mahalos for that!)

Thanks again!

Sorry, but could someone tell me what Andy meant by this please? The AI isn't very good in this? But that would suggest it's not very good in scen 1 either?

It's not the AI, it's the OOB. Scen 1 features the historical Japanese "order of battle", which a good human player can soon pummel into oblivion. In other words, they don't have enough military equipment, fuel or supply to put up an effective resistance, and the moderately decent human player can soon leverage that into an early victory. Scen 2 gives the Japanese a little more, and the various Ironman scenarios pile on even more. The "problem" is that none of those have variants in which the game starts on December 8th. Hence this is a "Scenario 1 OOB option only".
