Soviet vehicle management

Apologies if this is covered elsewhere.
I'm finding it very difficult to manage RKKA vehicles and tune the Army as it appears that some shtats are non-allowed to build after a date (OK fair enough), but the next ones are expensive in vehicles. Also - I go to the build new unit and it doesn't appear obvious whether the unit will pop up as 'motorised' or 'non-motorised'. I've got some Army Artillery regts that are mot and some that aren't - same description in the CR. Only after the fact when they're in the SR can I go in and see that they are/aren't.
What am I missing - is there an easy way to see this info. The CR has an AFV column, but not vehicles - Am I correct or can I get this info somewhere else?

Great improvement over WITE1 BTW.

I had a quick look and it appears you can't see the TOE from the purchase screen.

Of course, if you already have a unit of the same you could check its TOE.

Failing that check your reinforcement schedule and filter to arty and see if there are any of that type coming down the pipe. You can see the TOE there.
Great improvement over WITE1 BTW.
