LOS tool based on the color of the line indicates if there is LOS. LOS decreasing from light blue to dark blue to nothing. The vertical lines show the relative height of the terrain over the line. So, you can see dips and rises. Remember LOS varies based on time of day and weather. Also, actual unit LOS varies based on game factors such as deployment status ... (I don't know all the things that figure into those calculations.)

The TLOS tool will draw lines to threats which a unit has in sight. TLOS decreasing from bright red to dark red to nothing. Remember that seeing something is not the same thing as being able to engage something. So, you might see an enemy column at 2km away, but if you only have a rifle, then you are not going to be able to engage them. On the other hand, if you have an 81mm mortar, you will be able to engage them.

To use TLOS tool:

1. Click the TLOS button.
2. Click one of your units.

A red line will be drawn from your unit to any enemy units visible to it. The brighter the line, the better your unit can see that enemy. If no lines appear, your unit cannot see any enemy.

Remember that you see all the enemy reported by all your units, but not all your units can see all those enemy.

To use the LOS tool:

1. Click the LOS button.
2. Left-click on the map and hold down the left mouse button while dragging the mouse.

Between the position of your first mouse click, and the current position of your cursor, a blue line will show any areas that can be seen from the position of the first mouse click. The brighter the line, the better the view at that point; if there is no line, then that spot on the map cannot be seen from where you first clicked.

Cheers

Yes, "une fleche" en Anglais is an arrow.

The "petite fleche" is your mouse pointer, you need to actually place it over one of your units and click on that unit. If you do that when one of your units has the enemy in sight, then you will see red lines. For sure, you should see a red threat line if you see weapons fire going back and forth between your unit and the enemy units.

I'll try to take a screen shot later this weekend for you as I am planning to play some HTTR this weekend.

Phil,

You know I can just see my high school French teacher reading the above post and telling me that I will definitely be attending the Summer Session this year. :) It's a good thing that high school is long behind me!
