your opponent still got a lot of trained pilots if the Franks trade 1:1 vs Mustangs
I'm sure he has tons.
What do you think about my configuration of 60 fighters (30 + 30) per fleet carrier?
fighters are the way to go IMO but if your deathstars stay too long within LBA range his LBA will wear you down over time even with 2000 carrier based fighters present if he doesn't send in all his bombers at once just to be shot down. Franks and even more so Ki-94 can easily deal with Hellcats given parity in pilot experience, even Georges and Sams can go up against Hellcats.

What do you think about my configuration of 60 fighters (30 + 30) per fleet carrier?
Note the air complement of the USN CVs arriving later in 1945. they come with 36 F6F, 36 F4U, 15 DB and 15 TB. They have the nice amount of 72 Fighters. I usually resize the TB unit to 12, keeps me away from the overload and since the CVs have 36 torpedos, there are enough for 3 full strikes.

I don't think so, but the Ki-83 tore up the P-38J (~420 mph, the fastest P-38 model in Babes) that I swept with. The P-51D handles them fine.
Oh, if he has the Ki-83 then I'm sure he won't be going for the Ki-94II at all. The Ki-83 is better on paper but the Ki-94 has the advantage of being a 1E fighter and you have the engine available in 42 already as it's needed for the Jill hence I always go for the Ki-94 and not the Ki-83. So if you aren't going to meet jetfighters in late 45 you're already facing his best IJAAF fighter! [:D]
Leaves the Shinden as best IJNAF CAP fighter to be met.

• Awesome sweeps with 7 out of 8 fighter squadrons going in before the bombers, resulting in very light casualties to the bombers.
• The bombers from Guam did not fly, presumably due to the weather at Guam (all squadrons with 0 Fatigue).
• The bombers and fighters will stand down.
• So much for preventing successful Shinden research. The most Shinden we saw at one time was 22.
