[PEBKAC] Database Error

Post by pacman14k »

Hampered by nothing but errors in this game. The latest one is when when attempting to load MOST scenarios:

ERROR: You have (explicitly or implicitly) attempted to load a database (DB3000 v486) that does not exist on the DB folder...blah blah blah.

I don't get that error on any scenarios I play. Can you at least give a scenario name and what version you are using?

Yes. List several examples to check. I have not had any messages like this in ages (and that turned out to be my own fault in making a mistake applying an update - not saying yours is).

Also, is it the Matrix installation or the Steam installation? That may make a difference (mine is Matrix, not Steam)

What are the other errors you are getting? I didn't see any threads on them.

What scenario is it? If this is an old scenario you need the DB it was updated to for it to work. If it's ancient (CMANO era) then the needed DB may not have been included. If it's public jump on steam and get the updated scenario pack.

If you tried to alter a DB with an editing utility I'm not sure that'll work.

486 is included in the full CMO load. It'll make a big difference, as has been mentioned a couple times, what scenario, what CMO version, custom, community, standalone, campaign, etc.

Until any of those are answered, not much anyone can do.
