Select unit

I lost being able to select a unit in either of the Warplan Games? When I click on a unit to select it, nothing! Sometimes if I close the program and open up a saved game I can select a unit, but after the AI runs it's turn I lose the ability to select a unit? I've uninstalled the game and reinstalled, but that doesn't work. I find it unusual that it's only the Warplan games. My other games are fine. About the same time I started having a problem starting the Warplan Europe game. I can only start it by using the Quick Start icon. The game menu icon won't work! Any ideas?

You are the first to have this issue.
I just ran both games and turned on an option I thought maybe might be interfering. But it wasn't it.

Immediate advice. Go here
C:\Users\"your user name"\Documents\My Games\WarPlan\
C:\Users\"your user name"\Documents\My Games\WarPlan Pacific\

Copy the Saved Games folder somewhere else.

Uninstall both games.

Now go into where they are and manually delete the folders.
C:\Program Files (x86)\Matrix\WarPlan\
C:\Program Files (x86)\Matrix\WarPlan Pacific\

Delete the my games folders for both games... DO NOT DELETE My Games folder itself.
C:\Users\"your user name"\Documents\My Games\ delete both game directories.

Restart PC

Reinstall games.

Start a new game and see if that fixes it.

You can try this now..... Otherwise give me some information on the system.
Are you on a PC, Mac, or Linux?
How old is your PC? What is the chip on it and memory? Install i3, i5, i7, 80486 33Mhz?

Lucky me!! I bought both games when they first were released and both ran fine until several weeks ago? I'll give your suggestions a try?

No Go!! It worked for a few turns and then quit letting me select a unit? Strange....

Your specs are fine. Are you playing full screen or windowed?

This is very odd and almost always some PC issue. As this has only happened to you.

Try
C:\Program Files (x86)\Matrix\WarPlan\WarPlan.exe
RIGHT CLICK and run as admin. I just thought of this.

Make sure you don't have some other background app running in front of the game that takes the screen.

I went to Window mode. I'm running as Admin. I even tried running the exe file directly and by passing the Launcher. Nothing works? When I first launch the game the first turn works ok until I run the AI turn. Then I can select one unit, but that's all. It won't unselect the first unit and let me select another?

With WarPlan Europe it lets me select a unit on the first turn but that's all. Then it acts like the Pacific game? Really strange since both games worked fine until several weeks ago. I thought that it might be the updates, but I tried running both without any patches installed. Same thing? I'll continue to troubleshoot to try and pin point something? It's just weird that both stopped working at the same time with the same problem?

Well, what has been working for both games is to hit the escape key when you can't select a unit? Then it works. At least it has been so far?

I"m having similar issue, it seems that hitting the escape key kinda gets things back but not consistently. I was alt-tabbing out of the game into other windows so I thought that was it but not sure now. I can use the N hotkey to select units but can't just click on a unit to select it.

I think the game must just loose focus when you Alt-tab and pressing ESC is the only way back. It is also the case with Warplan.

Make sure you don't have this on....

Open Options and click OFF "Ease of Access" which is the first button at the top right of options. That is for players that have disabilities. The game handles different.

I can't replicate it otherwise.

Hi, I have this exact issue. Reinstall doesn't work - reinstalled, deleted folders and restarted pc - still cannot click on units or hexes. I can click on all other aspects of the UI though.

EDIT (5 minutes later) SOLVED: I had a controller plugged in! Makes sense hah.
