For me, this is the Doomsday Machine, Star Trek TOS.

Babylon 5: Severed Dreams. But you have to watch every episode before it to appreciate it fully.

Goodness there are so many good scifi shows with superb episodes but I'm a cold war kid and grew up watching star trek and this episode always stuck with me.

DS9, In the pale moonlight.

TNG, Yesterday's Enterprise was quite good too.

The Prisoner: The Schizoid Man. This has to be one of the biggest mindfucks I've ever seen, they (Number 2) try and get information out of Number 6 by convincing him hes not actually Number 6 and is instead impersonating Number 6 (himself) so that he can break the will of the fake Number 6 who is pretending to be the real Number 6 in order to break the will of the real Number 6.... yep

ST: TNG - The Inner Light; this is my default answer to this question (and the reason I learned to play the pennywhistle)

Some other contenders for personal favorites include:

Firefly - Jaynestown
Battlestar Galactica - 33; Scar (the scene where Starbuck lists all of the fallen = good stuff)

I haven't had a chance to digest The Expanse well enough to call out particular episodes, but there is definitely some potential there for enduring greatness as well.
