Advanced Options: Research

Post by havoc1371 »

What happens if you uncheck research? I see both sides have their "at start" upgrades still. So does no further research happen? Or does the AI introduce research per a historical plotline (i.e. Germans improve to level 5 fighters by 1944-45)? If nothing further happens, then its a pretty useless feature as it cements German and Japanese superiority in weapons till the end of the game. If its programed historical increases, then that is worth trying.

Hmm. Can you script Research I wonder? Would be a viable option for those who dislike the randomness (as I've said recently, it used to be a LOT more random than it is now).

It is for sure an old option that allowed some players that preferred to, to play without research and even diplomacy. It is as you initially guessed, simply no further research happens.

you can invest only on spiying and you will see what happend

The reason i dont play human PBME or against human its; the research function i dont trust the research on human-human at you can see its still the AI who scored the reserarchs on human-human so, i rather play only AI its the same

as you can see this game its only weather and research, nothing else (sorry if its sound strong) ITS a great Game until 1943. the best AI and the best to invest. then at 1943 if axis, china and russia are out, and if allied; japan and italy are out

It would be nice if the unchecked research was revamped to be a historical research option where upgrades are introduced in the game as they historically became available. It would give history buffs an opportunity to fight out WW2 a long historical lines, where strategy would truly decide the game, without the influence of massed investment giving a heavy advantage in technology.

Very good idea

this game is totally the best

for me Comand and control is the most important should be more upgrades than 2, then spiying till 3 upgrades and then technology industry as it is

historically the axis side is good in technology and comand and control not in production, the allys side is good in spiying so make slowly progress in axis side on technology
