Global War

World in Flames is the computer version of Australian Design Group classic board game. World In Flames is a highly detailed game covering the both Europe and Pacific Theaters of Operations during World War II. If you want grand strategy this game is for you.

Global War

Post by gridley »

Hello...After many years away I am attempting to play a Global War game. I keep getting "MWIF.exe An error occurred in the application" Box.

I played a Barb Scenario and it was fairly stable. Is Global War playable?

I have up to 04 03 00 00 hot patch.

Thx.

I am able to start a new game or load a few different saved Global War games including the Fast Start.

That doesn't mean that there might not be some errors, but they may be related to your save file.

I suggest that you start a new game or restore the Fast Start.

Just a wild guess here:

Did you have another copy of the game running?
Sometimes MWIF lingers in the Task Manager if it doesn't terminate cleanly.

I ended up having the problem placing Polish units that was discussed in Tech Support. So working around that no problem. I am having difficulty with Japan transporting troops on the first impulse combined. Maybe I'm loading troops wrong...will watch tutorial again.

Thanks for keeping at this, Steve...much appreciated.

Go back one update... that solves the Polish placement issue and the game plays just as well.
