Who owns the Age of Rifles IP?

So I recently wanted to revist age of rifles and I went to a dubious site that carries ancient games and they said they pulled it at the request of the IP holder. Does that mean someone is possibly going to rerelease this? Who owns the old SSI games?

I remember Norm Koger, a decade ago or such, saying that the IP for "Age of Rifles" was "up in the air" and how he had no problems if someone downloaded it as abandonware. Dunno if the situation changed in the (long) meanwhile.

USPTO search says that "Albireo Studios" owns the current trademark for the game. https://tmsearch.uspto.gov/bin/showfield?f=doc&state=4808:lkoiju.2.1 A further search shows that "Storm Eagle Studios" is owned by Albireo Studios. They have a storefront and such, but no Age of Rifles I can see.
