Air AI testing?

Gary Grigsby’s War in the West 1943-45 is the most ambitious and detailed computer wargame on the Western Front of World War II ever made. Starting with the Summer 1943 invasions of Sicily and Italy and proceeding through the invasions of France and the drive into Germany, War in the West brings you all the Allied campaigns in Western Europe and the capability to re-fight the Western Front according to your plan.

Air AI testing?

Post by MarkShot »

I have been playing around with Husky.

The AI seems to pick the load outs well based on AD and distance.

But I tried to get it to make use of South Sicily with the AI BASING, and it really failed there. It preferred to remain on the continent rather than moving up to the front. So, War Hawks were going to bomb with tanks and 1 500LB bomb as opposed to flying 40 miles and hitting then 3X ordinance.

I suppose manually rebasing is not too bad if I can allow the AI to assign groups to the ADs, and it handles ordinance okay.

Comments?

Thanks.
