Mogilev-Podolsky industry relocation, apparent error?

Post by Beethoven1 »

Mogilev-Podolsky is located in the western Ukraine/Bessarabia area. The armaments industry.

The armaments industry is apparently set in the 1941 scenario to be evacuated on turn 12. That can't be right however, as a historical evacuation date, because it fell historically on July 19, 1941, a couple months before turn 12. Screenshot with historical capture date and the factory relocation info:

Maybe it confused with Mogilev that in Belorussia? I don't know anything about an industry in Mogilev-Podolskiy.

Frankly, I don't know what "armaments" were produced in Mogilev-Podolsky. The town had one machine factory which produced mainly parts and machinery for agriculture. It also had a dairy and alcohol factories. None of them were evacuated and were simply blown up and destroyed. Germans never restored any of them. So it may have a HI=1 in 1941 to be removed on turn 2 or 3.

It could be a name mix up like that, there was a similar issue with mixing up 2 different Sverdlovsks that I found a while back. However, if it is a name mix up, it wouldn't be the Mogilev that is on the Dnepr river in Belarus, because that also fell a lot sooner than turn 12 historically. Maybe there is a 3rd Mogilev somewhere, lol, but I don't see one anyway.

Tried to find something on the net and failed.
The still existing ammo/machine parts fac in Barnau does not mention Mogilev-Podolsky as one of its source facs.
I like the suggestion of changing the arms fac into 1-2 HI without relocation.
The other Mogilev (Belorussia) has a capture date a week later but no evacs set up. I believe there was an aircraft parts fac that was actually evac'd

Mogilev had an auto repair plant (GARZ 7) converted to aircraft repair factory in fall 1940. It was then converted to produce some aircraft parts. Aircraft engine factory 459 was under construction and nearly finished before June 22, but never produced anything and had equipment evacuated on June 29 to Kuybyshev. Aircraft repair factory was also sent to Kuybyshev at the end of June.

smells like we'd have the HI points to evac from belorussian Mogilev (or the Arm points and half the HI)

Please be careful with aircraft engine plants. There was also construction in Kuybyshev, plant #337, so #459, #337 and #24 from Moscow were all unified as one plant. The plant became operational on December 25, 1941.

GARZ-7 is also known as MoAZ.
