Yes. Seems a lot of old timers visit here less often. If at all. And new posters are few and far between. They doesn't seem to stay. Maybe because they are just looking for specific stuff?
Hi Orm,

Been thinking about your post and don't have an appropriate response as to what is and what isn't. It maybe a pregnant pause while waiting for the updated forum version here, I don't know. Maybe a thread dedicated to "JOKES" might liven things up.[:)]
warspite1

The problem with jokes nowadays is that there is always someone desperate to be offended so you need to choose your target audience wisely.

I think that there are too many people (well at least a few I could name) keen to rubbish threads, but have no wish to bother contributing to new threads or join in conversation on existing threads. To those people I say, if existing threads are not to your taste... then as a member of our little wargaming community, why not start one that is?
Hello Warspite1,

You made an excellent point about jokes sorry to say. Which just goes to show what a minefield a forum can be in the current times, can't put it to theory and would not try for there would be about 500,000 detractors OMG. I do miss certain members participating here and wish that they'd return, if possible.

Its the "thumbs-down syndrome". You see it on UTube all the time. Great video contributions and yet there is group who thumb-down every video. Dedicated professional with a syndrome. Here a thread (I read their comments) they consider "strange" that the topic in the General Discussions Area.

I think this forum designed at first as pro-American community about wargames. Slitherine added British and the Commonwealth. Still major community about history and wargames from this audiance. Don't let anyone dissolve from this brotherhood. Cossacks and Vikings did that.

Your quite right (at least to me) that this forum has a heavy Anglo-American community, but if you really pay attention to what members have to say there's quite a diverse international community here, that all happen to use English to communicate with. I'll read what RFalvo69 has to say and swear he could be my next door neighbor here in Boston, Massachusetts, USA, same with many others, I really do not question where their sincerity is, even in humor. The funny thing is: Roughly 7 to 8 MP matches out of 10 is with members from countries other than mine and enjoy the comradery that evolves during and after a match.

There are people here from all over the world who just use English of whatever version to communicate. I do enjoy reading different perspectives from all over the world as long as it is polite.

RFalvo69 has very good English language skills as far as I've read. He has definitely ideas and I like his posts but also he is familiar with American culture. But don't understand me wrong it is no way international forum. With a Russian and Ukranian player I've played Ageod RCW we couldn't communicate nearly at all but we've played a good game.

I hope this forum does not end up like the Slitherine General Discussions forum. IIRC as of today the last thread posted there was 10 days ago, and the last post there was 11 days ago. The activity has been a little slow here lately (at least that's how it appears to me), which got me curious as what else is going on at other gaming sites, what's the talk, that kind of thing. Again I hope members stay engaged here, some may not realize what they have until they lose it.

Strange that I should join this forum only today and come across this post.

I downloaded Command Ops2 and bought a dlc to go with it. I had to buy from Steam, unfortunately but it's a Slitherine title.
I like the idea and the concept of the game and seen several videos of gameplay but it seems to have issues so I asked for help in the Steam Community dedicated to the game. Five days and not a single reply to my post, so signed up to the Slitherine forum to see if they could help. Four days now and I'm still waiting for an admin to approve my request to join.

It's possibly something I'm causing, being as I'm a complete Luddite when it comes to computers but I usually manage to figure stuff out. Lucky it was only £28 and a lot of wasted time but both Steam and Slitherine remain silent.. By contrast, I bought WitP.AE today (I wanted it and War in the East.2 before they both go to Steam) and after a few hours reading old forum help threads, I managed to get it up and running without too much drama.

Command Ops 1 was a Matrix title, Command Ops 2 is not, it has a different publisher.

I'm not sure about the Slitherine forums, I don't use that one at all. This forum is fairly active though.

Come on, as a developer I hope they don't force you make a game you don't enjoy. Wargame conflicts all about, just little to say... :)

Welcome Aboard..!! If anything: This is a gamers' game forum, support comes from all different directions and it does not matter where or when you got what you own. Take note: If your game is a Matrix/Slitherine check out the specific sub-forum and be sure to check out the sub-forum at both Matrix forums and Slitherine's forums (often the info posts might differ). Should you not get a response after posting in a sub-forum, by all means post here and I'm sure you'll get some attention, but I would not make a habit of it, after all, it is a general discussion forum. By the way, the wait period to join is common. Good Luck...[;)]
