Hello Armored Brigade Community
Hello Armored Brigade Players!
Some of you might know me as Stryker19K30 from the old Armchair General forums. I'm a real M1 Tanker (retired) and fell back in love with this game and I'm currently uploading NTC scenarios at the company and soon Task Force levels from the American side. I hope I am not breaking any self promotion rules (I mean I have like 9 subscribers lol) but so far I have 2 battles uploaded with commentary. If you want to watch how an old crusty grey bearded tank vet leads a company here is my channel:
https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCdl9gL ... dbuYkUtSzQ
Honestly my only goal is to spread awareness of this great game. If anybody happens to watch and sees ways I can play better please let me know! If not its no big deal either!

Fantastic - please do more of these.
I bought this game and never really got into it.
I learned more in the first half of your Night Defense 2 vid than I expected.
I'm still stuck in WW2 stuff and just get blown up instantly with modern vision and fire power.

RE: Hello Armored Brigade Community
I started a thread in the general section about all my guys dying in post WW2 games.
Please do more with bits on why you move stuff or how to guess where the bad guys will attack.
Perhaps there should be a "How to stay alive in post WW2 war games" hints wiki.
Anyway, thanks again for the vid - I'll look at the new ones too.

Hey thanks! That's a great topic. If you are against an enemy with similar tech levels, it is hard to stay alive.

RE: Hello Armored Brigade Community
This is the last video link I will post here for a while, it is a movement to contact that doesn't go well as thus the name "Team Apache Goes to Fiddler's Green." Task Force ops are next in the que. I will post 3 videos the next 3 days then move to 1-2 per week.

Thanks for that Russell.
The road next to me happens to be called Fiddlers Green Lane !
Is there a set up file so I can play the scenario ?
Oh, and I enjoyed your radio role play.
(Fiddlers Green Lane is 200 yards from GCHQ in Cheltenham)

RE: Hello Armored Brigade Community
Thanks - update from Fiddlers Green:
Played number 4, thought I was doing OK for 25 minutes (not that prior knowledge was involved).
Then their artillery found me.
----
I didn't know the importance of Fiddlers Green to the US cavalry:
Halfway down the trail to Hell in a shady meadow green,
are the Souls of all dead troopers camped near a good old-time canteen,
and this eternal resting place is known as Fiddlers' Green.
Marching past, straight through to Hell, the Infantry are seen,
accompanied by the Engineers, Artillery and Marine,
for none but the shades of Cavalrymen dismount at Fiddlers' Green.
Though some go curving down the trail to seek a warmer scene,
no trooper ever gets to Hell ere he's emptied his canteen
and so rides back to drink again with friends at Fiddlers' Green.
And so when man and horse go down beneath a saber keen,
or in a roaring charge fierce melee you stop a bullet clean,
and the hostiles come to get your scalp,
just empty your canteen and put your pistol to your head
and go to Fiddlers' Green.
-------
Kipling has some lines on Afghanistan:
When you're wounded and left on Afghanistan's plains, and the women come out to cut up what remains, jest roll to your rifle and blow out your brains and go to your gawd like a soldier.
------

RE: Hello Armored Brigade Community
Well, the Fiddler's Green scenario is hard to come out on top of, so don't feel bad.
Yeah Fiddler's Green is a very sacred text in the US Cavalry world. You learn it as early on as you can, and you say it A LOT.

RE: Hello Armored Brigade Community
I tried your number one without watching the video, got a win, but then watched the video and saw you won without anyone getting a scratch or a head ache.
This thread will disappear soon so why not put the files and the vids in the AAR section with an intro for beginners (and probably suggest new people play them in order).
I bought this game about 3 years ago when it came out thinking I should finally get beyond 1945 - and consequently just got blown up not knowing when various tech advances happened. Night time used to be safe !
Thanks for your vids and scenarios.

I'll try that I just made a Drink Water Valley scenario as the Krasnovian side. It turned poorly.

You have new subscriber here
A small wish/recommendation: if possible please use a better microphone. Your voice sounds great but it would be an even more pleasant experience if the sound was less tinny

Thanks for the positive feedback! Its great to hear.
Yeah, I'm not an audio engineer at all. I actually invested a few hundred bucks in a mic and I'm experimenting with placement, pop filters etc. It might be the fact that it's on the same track as the game audio (I'm using OBS) I might need to use different software for the audio OR it could just be the acoustics of my "studio" Unless you are speaking about the "Moose Gardens" video and there I just used the internal computer mic because I was waiting for the delayed delivery and got overly anxious to start.
If you have any advice I'm all ears.

Welcome and thanks for the videos! Have you considered uploading scenarios to Steam Workshop? There they would probably get a lot more visibility.

That's a great idea however, I'm probably the last person on earth without Steam.

RE: Hello Armored Brigade Community
Hello. I was around Armchair General before it got its name. I really want this game to develop to fill the void left by BCT, Armored Task Force, and most importantly HPS Decisive Action, even if on a smaller scale. I most certainly will watch your videos. I need a little inspiration to get more into Armored Brigade.
Please note, I really do like this game. However, I would love it if Armored Brigade incorporated more modern weapons and vehicles.
