Jess' Beyond the Beachhead PBEM scenario

German Propaganda! I swear there are Panthers and Tigers blocking my way. Not mere Luchs, which, by the way, I killed with a Garand shot a few scenarios ago. It's the Tigers and Panthers that are making this brave river assault into a fiasco for the Americans. Oh, the humiliation...

And, it only recently came to my attention that MG teams carry rubber rafts. That's why they are, finally, just now crossing the river.

The 101st continues to creep forward, while I attempt to hurt them as often as I can.

The vicinity of La Raye hill now has more American machine gun nests than trees!

My magnificant luck is still with me as a halftrack explodes with a burst from the new American proto-type extremely high explosive .30 cal rounds. Or maybe the driver spilling his potatoe Schnapps onto the hot barrel of his AA machinegun had something to do with it??

Slowly pushing through the bocage trying to avoid the HTs and Luchs of the Germans. Where I run into an AFV, I blast it with what I have; Garands and BARs, and keep my fingers crossed for another lucky kill. No such luck this turn.

There are few german squads I'm running into now, but that just leaves me with the problem of AFVs that are hard to kill with light weapons.

The German arty that I thought was exhausted must have reloaded because they dropped a big 150mm surprise right on a group of infantry. It was almost as if I was spotted, but I don't see how. I'll chalk it up to incredibly lucky fishing this time.

I've got 2 Luchs, 2 HTs, a couple MG bunkers and a few infantry and poineers to deal with. The biggest problem is that I'll need to fly if I expect to reach the main objectives of this assault. Those canal bridges are very far away. Perhaps the 101st can provide a little help if I ask nicely.

CPT Shoe said he has to go serve his country again and will be back by Thanksgiving (end of November), so this will be the last report for a few weeks.
